‘If You Go’ on the Friday drivetime tune
I’m on the road to College Park, to meet with my old University of Maryland pals ‘Skidar’ the economist, ‘Rupley’ the mathematician, Don the city manager, Tony the Tiger-like TV reporter, ‘Bongin’ Bob’ the cameraman, Scott ‘The big Jew’ engineer, and Kurt the professor.
We’re spread out all over the country now, but we get together for one game a year, and think back on some crazy old days that we barely survived — no lie. I’d say more, but there’s no statute of limitations in Maryland on felonies.
Anyway, here’s a tune from one of my favorite, still-playing bands, The Nighthawks, who are touring Norway right now but will be back in Roanoke Nov. 29 at Blue 5.
I’ll be off the blog for most of the weekend, but some of the usual stuff is coming up. I’l catch up with the comments as possible.

Nice!
hey dano, I hope you enjoy your trip. Are all those guys for real, or are you just taking off a few days. I wouldn’t blame you if you were just aking off a few days, but, holy cow, your gang sounds pretty ominous. I can’t but imagine the BIG sigh of relief that the College Park area emitted when you guys and your toilet paper finally grew up and left college.
By the way, when you can get your head right on the way home, please tell us what Fed Chairman Bernanke was smoking when he created QE-3 a couple of weeks ago…, due in VERY large part to ahh, “unemployment”, eh? Or, conversely, what are obama, and his lemmings smoking, regarding their irrational jubulation with the supposed “jobs” numbers (which come from 2 un-related sources, by the way). Bernanke AND obama’s lemmings can’t ALL be right, can they?
The way I read it, if obama’s lemmings are right, then Bernanke is an idiot.
Conversely, if Bernanke is right, then obama’s lemmings are idiots.
Right?
Enjoy your weekend Dan! My middle son is visiting his oyster farmer brother this week on the ESVA. I hope to be enjoying some good Chesapeake Bay seafood Monday.
Great tune!
Awesome tune! Takes me back to some great times at the Coffee Pot back in the early 80s…the Hawks were the best bar band in the area back then, in my opinion (and they had a lot of good company at the time). They played this song at nearly every show in those days, and it was always a highlight.
