One more way to avoid robocalls
Election robocalls were driving us crazy, so here is what we came up with. It doesn’t cost anything or take any upfront work. It does require that you have a cell phone, though.
First, turn off the ringers on all of your land-line phones.
Second, change your voicemail greeting as follows:
“You have reached the Harrisons. Please do NOT leave a message because we’ve turned off our home phone until after the elections. To reach Bruce, please call his cell phone at xxx-xxxx and to reach Liz, please call her cell phone at xxx-xxxx. Thanks!”
That’s all that we’ve done, and it’s working like a charm. Robocallers won’t leave a message, and anyone who really wants to reach you can.
