Precisely Dan! This whole spectacle and the reason we are here is in direct response to the TP/R Party and their minions allowing the spending and abuses that created so much debt they now insist the ONLY way to fix it is to hurt the safety nets and Social Security promises they have always hated and wanted to kill. This is their crime of opportunity and no damn way will they achieve that goal either.

Better do a fact check on which group created this horrendous mess. Hint,
what “un”-president has accumulated more debt than all the others before him combined. . .and all without a budget in his entire first term.

Reality is that the government receives more revenue when tax rates are cut. In addition, this creates more economic activity which creates jobs.
But this is not part of Obama’s agenda.

The current debate on the tax side is a no brainer..
If you give the 98 percent 2000 dollars a year (my2k)
Most of their finances are such they are very likely
to buy their essentials and durable goods thus contributing
back into the economic engine (Henry Ford) .
Any money gained by a millionaire or individuals making over
250k is likely not going to buying the kids soup and socks
at Walmart. See where the need is…and address it.
Mitt didnt worry about the 47 percent. Myself,I dont have a
lot of welfare concern for the 250k plus individuals . I think they
are gonna be just fine even if they have to back off a country club membership..or the family giving the Lexus to the college kid..and buying a used Ford like the 47 percent.
….Postscript..Judge approved 1.8 million in bonuses for Hostess executives..while 18,000 lose their jobs.

Isn’t it a hoot? You leftists call for a “balanced approach” AFTER you’ve spent us into oblivion.

No. We need to stop spending. Period. As Paul Ryan and others have shown, you could tax the rich at 100% and it wouldn’t make a dent in the deficit. Spending cuts are far more potent. So the goal of taxing the rich can ONLY be to punish people for being too successful, NOT to make any real difference.

Not necessarily. That’s the problem with you RWers. The fact is, austerity is more unwise than spending, given the shape we’re in. Note what’s happening in Europe, where austerity is the plan. Duh.

It never occurs to liberals that crazy socialist spending like Europe has done, has necessitated “austerity”. Also, to the left, “austerity” is ANY attempt to rein in massive spending.
