Your daily Letter to the Columnist — Dec. 29, 2012

Dan:

Many thanks for your columns and blog posts during my hospitalization and recovery from the Nov. 9 motorcycle crash.

Carilion discharged me from their rehab center on Christmas Eve. I still have several weeks and/or months of recovery ahead, including learning to walk again on my still healing broken leg and completing the therapy to restore my memory and other brain functions from the crash.

I’m damn lucky to be alive.

After two-and-a-half months in the hospital, I come home humbled by the experience and the many get well cards, email messages, post on Facebook and comments posted to your columns and the writings of others.

With considerable rehab still pending, I cannot yet return to work on any of my projects, although I am writing some on Muse and posting on Facebook.

Talk to you later.

Doug

Best wishes for a continued recovery.

Henry forgot to include the update to his link that says it’s all a lie. No surprise there, eh?

Dominican Today, Rush Limbaugh’s favorite periodical.

    Get well, soon, Doug.

And whether or not the story is a lie, Henry forgets to mention that 17-18 days is plenty of time to recover from many concussions. Athletes even return to playing in less time than that.

That was even weaker than your usual weak efforts, Henry.

So what is Congress doing over New Year’s Even Henry? Nothing. The same they have been doing for years. Unfortunately, we taxpayers are still paying them. That’s what you should be upset about Henry.

Sorry, that should be “New Year’s Eve.”

  9. gdad | December 30, 2012 at 9:34 pm

HEY, Henry, I thought you said Hillary was down in Punta Canta partying? Is that what you call it when somebody’s in the hospital with a blood clot from a concussion?

Wait!! I thought all the right wingers were saying her injury was a fake.

That’s Henry, never mind fair or accurate just run with salacious and put it out there.

No doubt she is faking that too. You should enter a limbo contest Henry.

It’s called Christmas recess, Ron. Teachers at your college teaching right now?

“Ninety percent of people with type 2 diabetes, its because they’re obis or overweight so I’m just trying to create a fun, active challenge,” said Hammer.

“Obis”? Why do radio stations put out such sucky copy? Jesus, hire a proofreader. I’d do it for free.

I had missed this artcile, but had called the day after Christmas and told he had been discharged. One of the investigators called today and mentioned the article.

I am so glad to hear that you are recovering, Doug. Of course, my wife is bugging me about taking a CPR course!

    Best, Marc
