It’s getting Frosty on the Friday OPEN thread
“Though I look old, yet I am strong and lusty; for in my youth I never did apply hot and rebellious liquors in my blood; and did not, with unbashful forehead, woo the means of weakness and debility; therefore, my age is as a lusty winter, frosty but kindly.”
William Shakespeare, “As You Like It.”

A warning from Paul Krugman. He nails it, unfortunately:
“By all accounts, Republicans have, so far, offered almost no specifics. They claim that they’re willing to raise $800 billion in revenue by closing loopholes, but they refuse to specify which loopholes they would close; they are demanding large cuts in spending, but the specific cuts they have been willing to lay out wouldn’t come close to delivering the savings they demand.
It’s a very peculiar situation. In effect, Republicans are saying to President Obama, “Come up with something that will make us happy.” He is, understandably, not willing to play that game. And so the talks are stuck.”
………
“So Republicans have suffered more than an election defeat, they’ve seen the collapse of a decades-long project. And with their grandiose goals now out of reach, they literally have no idea what they want — hence their inability to make specific demands.
It’s a dangerous situation. The G.O.P. is lost and rudderless, bitter and angry, but it still controls the House and, therefore, retains the ability to do a lot of harm, as it lashes out in the death throes of the conservative dream.”

how ’bout this for irony?
The Republican Party, led by George W. Bush, somehow managed to successfully seat black Americans Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice as Secretaries of State, and barack hussein obama failed to seat his black female choice for the same seat.
All potus needed to do was come clean about his Benghazi thingy, and i have no doubt that his Rice would have gotten her seat.
As always, big of you Frank.
Frank… you are a walking talking fallacy. What does someone’s race have to do with it? I am sure our president, Barrack Obama, doesn’t pay as much attention to skin color as you, Suzie, and your Mormon buddy Romney. You should leave that crap at home.
School Shooting at Connecticut Elementary School:
OK, NRA, let’s have it. Tell us how arming the children and/or staff at public schools would have prevented this tragedy. … I’ll wait …
Saintbridge,
You’ll be waiting a long time to hear anyone claim that arming elementary school children is a good idea. You’ll also be waiting a long time before you’ll find anyone to will claim that arming the staff at the school would have prevented it.
You’re welcome to wait, though.
Another day in America, another mass shooting. Those zany lawful American gun owners.
hey justin,
my comments weren’t meant for the potus.
they were meant for libs who, well, think in racial terms. they were also meant for the libs who don’t think Bengazi is a big deal. combined, i’d say that covers a whole bunch of libs, if not all of ‘em.
well, as far as i’m concerned, Benghazi just claimed another victim in rice…who was told what to say to those talk show hosts by potus’s administration…then she was shown to be an absolute fool, and, well, got what she got. all because of barrack hussein obama, …himself. his words did her in. now, i don’t know about you, but i find that ironic!
Susan Rice “got what she got”, courtesy of the right wing fringe so full of hate and so willing to blindly follow the memes they are fed that no one cared about the truth. Not then and not now. The CIA got those people killed, not Obama, not liberals and not Susan Rice. You played your part in the shameful defamation of Susan Rice too anonymous Frank, don’t dare leave your part out.
How long will this continue?
hey frank, you know whut? we just had the equivalent of 7 benghazis in connecticut today. do yourself a favor and redirect your outrage.
and what’s “ironic” is you calling anyone a fool.
That’s a good start to solving this very serious problem, Jack. Thanks for your input.
O-M-G
frank, your words do not match your actions. Nor do they match any actions of any repub/tea party person on this blog. Every time I turn around you and Suzie are trying to blame poor people, Black people, Latinos, or a combination thereof for this country’s issues. Its rather sick really. All you want is to blame someone else because your party is not willing to work with another of selfishness, and greed. It has nothing to do with what is good for the country as a whole, but it has everything to do what is good for you personally. I don’t agree with you, but I am glad we Liberals, Freethinkers, and folks that would like to see this country move past the rhetoric of your “old fashioned” ways, we out number and out vote your BS fantasy that you are entitled for what ever reason your moonshine gives you today.
Frank, is your refrigerator running?
hey sandi,
the following two quotes are reported on page 4 of today’s roanoke times:
1. “rice withdrew when it became clear her political troubles were not going away, and support inside the White House (hey sandi, potus chose to not fight even a little bit for rice…) had been waning in recent days, administration officials said.”
hey sandi, I think it’s silly for folks to assume that rice’s troubles were “her’s”. they are potus’s. he created them, and he offered rice up as his sacrificial lam-, oops, err, ahh, African American woman.
2. “rice had become the face of the bungled administration account of what happened in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012…”
hey sandi, why do ya think potus sent out rice, instead of billary? ok, i’ll tell ya…he sent out rice, ’cause he knew that what he wanted said would not be true. ergo, he didn’t have the cahones to send billary…so he knowingly sacrificed rice.
sandi, i think it was a simple matter of choice, and choices, for potus.
he chose to preserve billary’s legacy, and all the while trashing rice’s.
hey justin,
…figures you got it wrong, ’cause you can’t seem to comprehend what you read.
let me say it this way:
i think barack hussein obama’s failure in his dealings with s. rice was his refusal to insist that billary go on those talk shows…evidently believing billary’s plea that “…she was tired…”. …he must have forgotten billary’s famous campaign speech line, “i don’t feel no ways tired…”! HA! …well, except when this Benghazi thingy popped up. After THAT, she was too tired… and, bho thought he could smooze s. rice on through. …and, he failed.
that’s what i think happened, justin.
frank
I hope we can get my christmas turkey as full of stuffing as you are in your remarks. Only I hope the stuffing in my turkey will not be poisoned by the bitterness of defeat and the foul taste of unsupported and unproveable bushwa.
so dave,
…it’s been over 3 months. why was ambassador Stevens even in Benghazi which was not secure, on THAT day? Was it gun-smuggling?
The best we get from the roanoke times is a little blurb on page 3 of today’s paper, from “wire reports”, which is head-lined, “U.S. points fingers over slow Benghazi Inquiry”. The “blurb” goes on to blame…”uncooperative or less-than-capable local law enforcement in Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia” …for being responsible for, well, …for us not knowing what went down, and why. yep, it’s those dastardly middle east countries’ fault that we know nothing. uh huh.
yeah boy. it’s the blame game. then, barack hussein obama tells susan rice to say what she said on those 5 morning news shows…then he feigns being “pissed off”, then he throws her under the bus….all to relieve billary of the burden of talking to those 5 talk shows.
and, you libs swallow it… hook, line, and sinker.
If only you really knew half of what you think you do Frank. Your distasteful and childish style makes it very hard to respond to you with respect.
Obviously Susan Rice was “in the running” for Secretary of State and that explains why she was asked to “fill in” for Mrs. Clinton on the talking head shows that Sunday. You continue to ignore the facts that do not suit your right wing fantasy. When he testified before Congress, General David Petraeus, said that Rice was speaking from unclassified talking points given to her by the CIA.
As she said herself: “It would have been irresponsible for me to substitute any personal judgment for our government’s and wrong to reveal classified material,” Rice wrote. “I made clear in each interview that the information I was providing was preliminary and that ongoing investigations would give us definitive answers.” Yet you continue to pretend you know something others do not.
No, you don’t. Your hate blinds you to so much it is just plain sad.
Sandi
If Frank knew half of what he thinks he knows, he’d be running a think tank or be the President of an Ivy League University.
sandi,
oops. i forgot. susan rice is a lib. the potus is a lib. 1 lib plus 1 lib = two absolutely perfect, above-reproach…libs. sorry, i forgot.
Where was billary? Why was ambassadore Stevens in Benghazi…when it was known to be dangerous?
Why are you libs (see page 3 of today’s roanoke times…) blaming the lack of progress in the, ahh, ahem!…investigation (that’s a laugh!) on the less-than-capable local authorities…over there? Eh?
Frank, you are fast approaching pammala levels of torturing the written word. I am sick of trying to read your posts. I keep forgetting how bad they get.
Have it your way, it is the only way you consider anyway.
Dave @ 2:59,
It’s not “stuffing” that Frank is full of…
Stevec
I was just trying to be “civil”.
Hey, Frank, where’s your evidence of the ambassador being tortured and raped? You assured us the details were coming out and we’re still waiting.
“Hey, Frank, where’s your evidence of the ambassador being tortured and raped? You assured us the details were coming out and we’re still waiting.”
It’s a little creepy how hard Frank pushes that line — like he daydreams about a guy getting tortured and raped. That’s sick.
Jack@12:46 PM
This post was made by Dave Hicks on the another mass shooting thread after he had just posted two links advocating exactly what you said we would be waiting a long time for. Guess it didn’t take too long after all.
Re: nosaj — @ 10:52 pm
“I presume that you agree with these solutions since you posted the links.”
—————–
Pretty much. See my last.
I would support legal carry for self-defense pretty much anywhere that there is not a significant level of elevated security in place.
I would support every teacher being able to be armed, if she/he wish to be, and some special provisions made to arm and provide active-shooter training to many of them such as proposed on PoliceOne.
—–
As an aside, BTW, assuming, arguendo, that that the reports that the shooter was underage to buy a handgun and stole it from the legal owner (his mother, whom he also killed) what bearing would your second restriction have on this tragedy?
Comment by Dave Hicks — December 15, 2012 @ 12:21 am
special correction for socialist spelling squad
well, he and susan rice and hillary clinton all had hands in this murder and they are all guilty as hell. some people will not
1. Frank makes sensible articulate comments.
2. Liberals personally attack Frank.
3. Frank makes more sensible comments with links to prove his point.
4. Liberals personally attack Frank.
Why am I seeing civility only from one side? Wasn’t the Summit supposed to address that?
pammmala, it’s not spelling. It’s your (and Frank’s) general butchering of the language and punctuation and a complete lack of logic. Now go clean out the Slurpee machine.
Suzie, Golden Corral strikes!!!!
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Golden-Corral-Restaurant-Closes-Following-167-Reported-Cases-of-Food-Poisoning-315029.shtml
Frank clearly has committed a lot of time to daydreaming about the forced sodomy of a dead man. A fictitious forced sodomy at that.
Hey Suzie, how’s that spelling thing coming for you? Lets have a little pop quiz!
A) Gaudaloope
B) Gouda-loop
C) Guadalupe
D) none of the above.
Since “Girl doesn’t make spelling errors” I’m confident you’ll get this right. Or not.
dan,
i made reference to that point like, months ago. show me the last time i, as YOU say, “pushed” that point. now, there’s lots of times your lib possy pushed that point. perhaps your vision is blurred, along with your thinking, and you confuse THEIR posts with mine.
by the way, dan, i had a good dinner last night at the New Yorker. Eight of us had good sandwiches, good service, relatively low cost.
ya been back there since you put out your “hit” piece on the New Yorker?
I don’t doubt that if I knew Frank personally, I might consider him a good guy. However, if he has ever posted a sensible, articulate comment on here I’ve missed it. It must have happened those times I’ve been away from the blog.
“dan,
i made reference to that point like, months ago. show me the last time i, as YOU say, “pushed” that point.”
None of us understand what your point was, Frank. Will you please remind us? Or was the whole point simply to be MAKING STUFF UP?
Awww, shucks, Debbie.
I very much appreciate your sensitivity towards me. i just don’t know why all the other libs feel about me the way they to do. it’s worrisome, and keeps me from getting a good night’s sleep.
But, thank you. And in return, i’ll try my very best to communicate my thoughts more effectively.
Although, given the repeated actions to my posts by dan’s posse, I have the idea that at least some of them DO grasp what I’m sayin, ya know? And, they sure don’t seem to like for any question to be raised concerning their lib version of “the truth”.
hey dan,
wow dan, i’m flattered that you brought up the Benghazi matter with me twice within a 10 hour period. Thank you! I guess my point remains, …still kinda hangin’ out there, …cause you and i STILL don’t know what happened in Benghazi…do we, dan?
Let’s see, here’s a recap of what we do know…stay with it, it gets more interesting nearer the end…:
1. Our Ambassador was denied, by the state department, for his requests for additional protection.
2. September 11 had/has particular meaning to the terrorists.
3. Benghazi was a libyian rebel stronghold, and a hot bed of violence.
4. The Brits, and the Red Cross both closed there offices in Benghazi, after being attacked.
5. Yet, the smart, lead-from-behind-led-by-bho Americans kept our consulate…open. Why?
6. Stevens inexplicably went to Benghazi, at that very dangerous time. Why? What is bho and hillary hiding?
7. Evidently, there are reports of “extra” guns being “run” from Libya to Syria. Might Stevens have been involved in THAT? Hmmm?
8. Within the apparatus of the state department, national security, this agancy and that agency, there has been little, if any, consistency in their reports concerning just what the heck happened in Benghazi.
9. Stevens worked for the state department, led by none other than hillary clinton.
10. hillary clinton is a top Alinskyite-lib candidate to succeed bho in 2016.
11. hillary refused to tell her side of the story to the 5 sunday morning talk shows…claiming she was “too tired”.
12. sooo, bho tagged susan rice as the most appropriate person to carry his administration’s water on those shows. When susan rice protested, bho likely said something like this: “hey susan, i know that what i’m requiring you to say is fundamentality not true, but it’s the best i’ve got right now. you do this for me, and you can be assured that i’ve got your back for secretary of state”.
13. Today, over 3 months later the American public has no more knowledge from the obama administration than they had than they before the obama administration intitally decided to spread known falsehoods about the, “ahem!” despicably bad movie trailer.
14. Then, bho lied repeatedly before the united nations…again spreading the lie that he had susan rice publicly procaim almost 2 weeks earlier.
15. hillary now says she “has a head ache”, and can’t testify this week before congress. hmmm, the last time…., she was “tired”. this time,…, it’s a “head ache”. hmmm.
16. in my opinion, the big question is… what would hillary have said if she were to testify?
17. we know this much…hillary is an alinskyite. We know Alinsky espoused “lying” to achieve political gains.
18. we know that bill clinton famously got caught lying under oath.
19. we remember seeing bill clinton famously way is…finger…at us when he lied to the American public…”i did not have sex with THAT woman…”.
20. i got it! hillary won’t testify, ’cause if she does she’ll have to lie. And, she can’t lie, ’cause she just KNOWS that there’s a figurative blue dress lurking out there…somewhare…with a stain on it!
“Wasn’t the Summit supposed to address that?”
It didn’t get rid of you, either.
Frank,
Put a sock in it. NOBODY CARES. Did you hear 26 people were gunned down in cold blood?
Congrats Frank
You have just managed to post the most twisted, convoluted, unconnected , mostly unreadable piece of garbage this blog has ever seen. I bet you sat up all night composing that one .
Frank, I seriously doubt anyone reads your crap when it’s just a line or two. Don’t even waste your time with lists like that one. No one cares.
#29 Notice how suzie comes to the defense of a fellow right winger only when that person is either a) totally inane and incapable of defending him or herself or b) the person says something noice3 about suzie. In Franks’s case, we’re talking mostly about “a.”
hey dave,
i dunno, …i think most of what i wrote above is undeniable fact, while some is conjecture. and, i think hillary’s entire avoidance of anything “Benghazi” is, well, sad. “I’m tired”, send in susan rice. really? “I have a head ache”. really?
yep. she’s not gonna testify ’cause she would have to lie…and she won’t go up there and lie until she knows where that dag-gummed stained blue dress is lurking. what she’s failing to consider is that stained blue dress has made her billy ever the more popular. go figure.
Gdad,
You say you’ll be watching to see if I’m really since about my goal to be more civil and discuss issues instead of getting into attacks, yet you continually go personal and divert from the issue. It’s like you have no desire for civility in here. Rather, you would like to goad me into being uncivil so you can jump on it.
You claim to be Christian and go to church. If that’s the case, why don’t you help me with my goal of civility instead of trying to bait me?
“i think hillary’s entire avoidance of anything “Benghazi” is, well, sad. . . .yep. she’s not gonna testify ’cause she would have to lie…and she won’t go up there and lie until she knows where that dag-gummed stained blue dress is lurking. what she’s failing to consider is that stained blue dress has made her billy ever the more popular. go figure.”
This news has ruined Frank’s entire week. Now he won’t be able to come on this blog and claim Hillary lied. Curses — foiled again!
hey dan,
yes, it looks like hillary’s (ahem!), ahhh, “head ache” (haha!) will keep her from doing her duty this week. i betcha ol’ bill suggested she use that one, since she’s already used up the ol’ “i’m too tired” routine back in September.
you know, it’s been interesting to say the least…seeing how the clintons’ have evolved their learning from ol’ bill’s “stained blue dress” escapade. I mean, who saw THAT coming, ya know? The moral that the clinton’s learned from THAT story is, “always know where the figurative stained blue dresses are, at all times”. And right now, ol’ hillary isn’t quite sure she knows where those type dresses might be lurking. So, she keeps her yap shut with her tired old routine that ol’ bill knows all to well: “i’m too tired”, and, “i’ve got a head ache”.
HaHa! I’m serious. Some think she might be our next President!
I’m sure Frank’s been drooling over that “blue dress” for 15 years.
hey kristen,
i just have to ask, what do you think of the analogy, huh? seriously. i bet they (the clintons…) now use that “s b dress” as reference to political “unknowns”.
..like, instead of hillary saying, “i’m not gonna testify in front of congress until i know where all the skeletons are buried”…she instead says, “i’m not gonna testify in front of congress until i know where all those dang-fool #*/! blue dresses are lurking”!
pretty good, huh? in the meantime, she just rolls with the ol’ stand-by of, well, you know, that “head ache” thingy. HaHa!
Um, yeah, Frank. The Clinton’s dysfunctional relationship produced a daughter that earned three Masters degrees from the University College, Oxford and Columbia and she’s working on her Doctorate at Oxford. Meanwhile, your son got his Master’s degree from Hollins. Plus, neither of the Clintons begins their blog submissions with an idiotic sounding “Hey”.
hey steve c,
next time you blog with the clintons, please tell’em ol’ “hey Frank” says hi! also, please ask bill how long hillary’s been using those ol’ “i’m too tired”, and “i have a head ache” excuses. seriously.
oh, and, hey steve c, sooo whatcha think that ol’ daughter produced by that “dysfuntional” couple wants to do when she grows up, eh?
If DEanj gave an award for the greatest stretch of the year in a post, Frank would be right up there with Suzie and the Roanoke Tea Party. Suzie has her 57 tenetws of the John Birch Sciety which she attaches to a conspiracy begun in the 50′s to effect a “communist” takeover opf America by selecting a black child born ten years later and developing him to be elected President of the US so he can convert us all to raving reds.
The Roanoke Tea Party takes a membership by a local govt. in a voluntary
organization which supplies it software which it uses to develop green energy programs which save it hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy costs and stretches it into a conspiracy by the UN to take over the local government.
But only Frank, in his inimitable style, which is a combination of conspiracy theory paranoia and imitation Mayberry ignorance could ramble on in a disjointed 20 point stream of dumbness and stretch out a conspiracy that starts with Benghazi in 2012 and goes all the way back to a bill Clinton BJ in 1994.
The only option after reading this folderol is to laugh hysterically
until it brings tears to your eyes and marvel at the sordid sickness of the
tea stained brain which could concoct such a cockamamie mishmash .
His OCD fixation on the stained dress is rivaled only by his equally OCD fixation on the idea he continues to float about the ambassador being raped and tortured. The imaginary world he lives in must be a truly frightening place.
“You say you’ll be watching to see if I’m really since about my goal to be more civil…”
In fact, I don’t remember saying that at all because I’m well aware you’re not sincere (I guess that’s the word you meant).
“Rather, you would like to goad me into being uncivil so you can jump on it.”
My last comment was not an attempt to goad you at all; it is simply the truth. In fact, I didn’t expect you to reply to that one. I’m quite surprised you did.
“You claim to be Christian and go to church.”
False. My wife and children go to church and I occasionally accompany them.
hey dave,
thanks for providing, ahh, NO dispute of any of my 20 points regarding Benghazi…only ONE of which mentions that ol’ s b dress! And, none of which involved what the terrorists may have done to Stevens, other than kill him. to you libs, that s b dress is like a red flag to a bull!
hey dave, why was Stevens ordered by Clinton to go to Benghazi? and, if you think she didn’t order him to go to Benghazi, why did he go to THAT dangerous place on such a dangerous day?
BTW, suzie, everybody on this blog is well aware that although some of your comments now have a thin veneer of civility to them, many continue to be mere attempts to goad others.
Frank
Because you attached numbers to a bunch of unsubtantiated conjecture does not make them “points” or dignify them as worthy of a response.
Frank, are you a fan of the Andy Griffith show? You know the times when Gomer says, “Goober says hey.”
hey Dave,
Do you disagree with my comments in numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19?
Do you disagree with the premis in numbers 5, 6, and 7? Are you able to answer the questions raised in those same numbered questions?
Or, are you just full of bluster?
Frank
There vae three facts inyour “list”. #’s 2, 4 anmd 9. The rest of it is conjecture, moonbeams, lollipops, and mostly just plain horse manure.
