For many years in a former profession, I worked with and around “biker gang” members, mostly Pagans and Outlaws. No doubt they have done bad things, but my experience was much the same as yours with Uncle T. I found the bikers to be exceptionally intelligent and resourceful, but conformity was not a characteristic in large supply. They lived on the edge of life, a place they could find a challenge. I always kind of envied that edginess.

Sure there might be good people but the organization as a whole is heavily tainted. Hunter S Thompson and other writers seemed to make it clear that rape was a popular pastime for the HA. Forcing women into prostitution was another. Not to mention that leaving the Hell’s Angels at one time was fatal. If you were very lucky, they only carved out your tattoos.
