A Tennessee gunner who stands by his threats

Earlier today Tennessee gun advocate James Yeager ranted on YouTube that he might start killing people over his anger that President Barack Obama might issue executive orders related to some gun control measures. Yeager’s since taken that down, but in another video below he explains himself and stands by his earlier statements.

He also aimed a verbal barrage at “all you f–king fair-weather Second Amendment people who are telling me that I’m doing a f—ing disservice to the gun community by saying that I am not going to STAND for the tyranny. F– you! Our country wasn’t founded by f—ing fair-weather p—ies.” Watch below (NSFW) and answer this question: Who’s crazier? Yeager or Alex Jones?

So glad this nut has lots of guns, because that’s what makes America great.

This idiot is obviously too stupid to remember that his inbred hick ancestors tried this century and a half ago and it didn’t work out too well. This makes a wonderful case for a psyc eval prior to issuing a gun license.

It’s guys like this, Alex Jones, and the guy from Georgia who got killed
that make the greatest case for gun control and regulation. The more of them who come out of the woodwork, the greater the chance for meaningful
    and effective legislation.

  8. John Wilburn | January 11, 2013 at 1:14 am

He’s right about “fair weather” Second Amendment people. I see a lot of those. They talk about how important their rights are, but don’t do squat to preserve or protect them. They think voting Republican once every four years is all there is to doing their part. They don’t volunteer their time, they don’t call, e-mail, or write their legislators, when it comes to gun free zones – they don’t vote with their wallets and go elsewhere, they don’t care enough to rally in the cold or take a day off here and there to show support in Richmond.

But they all have time to complain when the bad bills get rammed through or, in the case of the Democrat voters, the president they naively thought wouldn’t go after their rights issues an executive order.

The problem isn’t the 8 or 10 anti-rights people protesting us. The problem is the hundreds of people in the gun show on our side who are too lazy to protect what they readily acknowledge is supposedly important to them.

Good or bad, the fair weahter pro-gun people make the difference.

They will make the difference in the months ahead too. We’ll see.

  9. Teresa | January 11, 2013 at 2:21 am

The more of these gun obsessed extremists that speak out, the more likely we are to actually accomplish reasonable gun safety regulations. Obviously, we need improvements in mental health care. If the guideline is “danger to self or others,” how is he still walking the streets?

    Dan

Before Obama was President in Chicago he said: That there were no need for firearms. If a person is faced with a threat they should call the police to handle any personal threat.

And this video of a young pregnant woman attacked in the UK

Do I believe people have a 3 day wait period to purchase ammo, or jack up the price of ammo by a 100%. No! Law abiding citizens no to protect themselves from criminals that don’t purchase ammo or guns.

The FBI Stats. Reports that at any given time there’s over 45 serial killers staking the streets of the United States at any one given time. Stalking Men, Women, and Children.

Lastly in my home state of Tennessee in conversation with my sister on the phone. She had told me just yesterday a man was reconized as a person that murdered a woman 4 years ago in a Verizon Wireless store purchasing a phone.

When the police arrived it was proven he was out on parole. Parole!!?

There’s no parole for the dead. Something is just damn wrong.

Your post proves what those who love this country and the constitution fear. . .that we are seeing a gradual erosion of our freedoms and rights including this latest attempt to thwart our ability to defend ourselves,
our families and our country. IMO; I do not want anyone with your perverse attitudes and viewpoint to dictate what should or should not be.
You demonstrate you are simply a sheeple with no real self opinions and only able to echo what someone else tells you to think. You are entitled
to your opinion. . .but not to force that opinion on others.

The right to keep and bears arms is an individual right. Rights are not provided by the Government nor can they be taken away unless we allow them to. Guns in the hands of law abiding citizens, regardless of type,
reduce crime. The discussion of this issue should revolve around how best to protect our kids which is elimination of the gun free zones the crazies favor as target rich environments. Allow teachers with valid CCP
to carry in school. . .the crazies will go elsewhere. Additional gun laws
make no sense and who will you have enforce them? You? I think not.

  12. Jack | January 11, 2013 at 7:50 am

Someone should ask Carolyn Warren and Joan Taliaferro if calling the police to handle a personal threat is a good idea.

  13. Justin True | January 11, 2013 at 8:10 am

I hate that people like this guy over shadow folks like, John Wilburn, in their fight for their rights as gun owners. When the cards hit the table people are going to remember this man’s rant and forget the plausible and well thought out arguments given by folks like JW. Sad but true.
I don’t think everyone should own guns, I was a machine gunner! I shot 50cals, Mk19s, SAWs, 240Gs, M 16′s… I shot all kinds of cool weapons at inanimate objects. I miss the smell of gun smoke in cold weather. I agree with JW that shooting guns are really fun! But from my very small window on this issue I can’t see the reason that we should all own and brandish weapons. Why? Because people like this guy scare me. Not for my safety, but for the safety of my family, for the safety of our public.
This guy needs a straight jacket and some good meds.

John Wilburn, the problem is that you watch that video (or the one before it) and choose to speak to the “fair-weather supporters” and ignore the rest of his malevolent message as if it were perfectly normal behavior. His demeanor and ignorance are stunning in situ and you claim the “problem” is fair-weather gun advocates who won’t perform like trained seals.

Sane, rational people do not react like that to any news, much less the rumor of a discussion of news. But thanks for noticing. Be part of the problem whenever you can.

“(European Union Times) A new Federal Security Forces (FSB) report updating their 4 January “urgent action” memorandum to President Putin circulating in the Kremlin, today, states that the “death squads” unleashed upon America by President Obama have claimed their first two victims and warns that “another massacre” in the United States is “much nearer than first believed.”

    Mr. Yeager states:

“I didn’t ask you to clog up my [expletive deleted] email. I don’t need anybody to ever email me or text me or call me or smoke signal me over anything that’s going on in the Internet, because I don’t care.”

One solution to Mr. Yeager’s problems of a clogged email box and numerous communications is for him to stop…posting…inane…rants on YouTube.

If Mr. Yeager wants to exercise his First Amendment rights, then he can do so, but don’t be a crybaby when you get criticism for what you say.

Could you provide a link to that alleged quote from Mr. Obama? I spent some time looking and I couldn’t find it as you presented it. Also, please give us the link to the FBI Report on Serial Killers. Lastly, please give more specifics about the parolee who is on the streets after 4 years. This last case is more the fault of judges who mete out sentences to criminals and parole boards who order prisoners to be released on parole. It has nothing to do with gun control or the lack thereof.

  30. Dan Casey | January 11, 2013 at 5:39 pm

The state of Tennessee suspends James Yeager’s concealed carry permit.

“The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public’s safety,” wrote Commissioner Bill Gibbons. “Mr. Yeager’s comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail.”

Now he’s gonna be REAL mad.

  31. Sandi Saunders | January 11, 2013 at 5:39 pm

So Henry @ #23 January 11, 2013 @ 10:17 am, you do not think a felon with a gun should be charged with having that gun if he used it to defend his home? Does that mean you believe we should allow felons to have guns in their homes for that purpose? And you do not believe a state legislature has the right to legislate a ban on the manufacture, sale or possession of guns?

  32. John Wilburn | January 11, 2013 at 5:42 pm

But Dan, you want tighter requirements on carry. Now he cannot carry, right? The world is safer, right?

  33. Dan Casey | January 11, 2013 at 5:47 pm

    JW,

I think that a state that suspends the carry permit of a flaming idiot gun freak who goes on YouTube and threatens “to kill people” is on the right track.

  34. John Wilburn | January 11, 2013 at 5:51 pm

So we are safer now that someone somewhere has sent him a letter and recorded paperwork in the courthouse basement, right?

  35. John Wilburn | January 11, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Sandi, FWIW, I believe non-violent felons should be allowed to defend themselves or at the least have a reasonable path for restoration of their gun rights. No, a state legislature should have no authority to ban the sale or possession of guns and very limited control on the manufacturing too (mainly taxes).

  39. Hillary | January 11, 2013 at 7:16 pm

For those who want to champion Yeager, not only is he flaming irrational, he is also a liar:

“James Yeager, the CEO of Tactical Response who recently said ‘I’m gonna start killing people’ if President Obama takes executive action on gun violence, advertises his services as a firearms instructor with a long list of state and federal certifications. One of the more prominent claims is innacurate, according to Tennessee law enforcement.

On his personal website, Yeager’s Corner, Yeager says he’s a “TN Department Of Safety Certified Firearms Instructor.”

But Dalya Qualls, a spokesperson for the Department of Safety and Homeland Security, told TPM that’s just not the case.

“I have confirmed with our Handgun Unit that Mr. Yeager is not a Department of Safety and Homeland Security certified handgun instructor and Tactical Response is not a department certified school,” Qualls said in an email.

Though Yeager lists himself as a “firearms instructor,” Qualls told TPM he is not certified by the department and that there is no such certification offered. ”

  40. Hillary | January 11, 2013 at 8:19 pm

Dan @38 – slander is the spoken word, libel is the written word.

If someone’s “reputation” is harmed by the written word then a libel suit. An anonymous blogger has no “reputation” by virtue of their
anonymity…so Herb is wrong with his usage of “malice and slander”.

  41. herb | January 11, 2013 at 8:55 pm

Dan, your not even close its implied. Weather last name or not she made a direct statement

Suggesting that I am inciting a riot or commiting treason. Neither is fact. I have the finances to bring a suit
Do they I the finances to defend it.”

    –Comment from herb, no kidding

OK, I will attempt to decipher this. Herb is claiming he can sue Sandi for slander (the more accurate term, as Hillary points out, is libel) and win because Sandi claimed herb “made a direct statement Suggesting that I am inciting a riot or commiting treason” and that he can afford to bring that action.

Herb, in this legal arena the only thing you can collect for is provable losses stemming from any damage she did to your reputation. The problem, in terms of your identity here on this blog, is you have NO REPUTATION, herb. You need to be an identifiable person to have a reputation — and you’re NOT an identifiable person. You’re a first-name-only anonymous entity.

  44. Kristen | January 11, 2013 at 10:58 pm

  47. John Wilburn | January 12, 2013 at 12:24 am

    Hillary:

“On his personal website, Yeager’s Corner, Yeager says he’s a “TN Department Of Safety Certified Firearms Instructor.””

That state certification TN requires is a racket intended to squeeze some money out of the instructors. So is their interpretation that a holster creates partial concealment and therefore requires a Concealed Handgun Permit to open carry. Then, even the open carriers have to get a CHP, not to mention having to show the permit to any cop who wants to shake them down.

  48. J.M. White | January 12, 2013 at 1:03 am

I love it when nobodies on the Internet threaten libel suits. Four things are common to them:

    a) they always erroneously claim it’s slander
    b) they always claim to have the finances to bring suit
    c) they are always unable to prove even one penny damages because they seldom have any kind of reputation with which to begin.
    d) they never follow through with the threat

You’re blowing hot air, herb. I’ll call your bluff, too. What do you need me to say that you think is egregious enough to bring suit against me? I’ll say it in a heartbeat, because you don’t have the testicular fortitude to do it. If it needs to be vulgar to be offensive enough (something I can’t get away with here), I’ll dedicate an entire post to “herb from Virginia” on another unmoderated site I frequent. Your lawyer is going to laugh you out of his office and keep your retainer for the aggravation you caused him.

I’ll buy billboard space if I need to, just to teach you a valuable lesson in your meaningless anonymity. We don’t care; we don’t have to. We’re the Internet.

Yeah, well, you’re also talking about a [landlocked] state where it’s illegal to shoot any animals from a vehicle except for whales. You also can’t lasso fish or sell hollow logs, either. Then there’s my personal favorite: “No Christian parent may require their children to pick up trash from the highway on Easter day.” Gosh, Tennessee! I didn’t know that highway cleanups on Easter had become so epidemic down there. It’s a good thing we vaccinate against it up here in VA. Non-Christian parents? Nah, you’re good; work ‘em to death, Easter or no.

In all fairness to James Yeager, he’s apparently issued some updates.

The first where he deletes the parts about killing people and then another one urging people to do nothing rash and another with a lawyer.

Full Disclosure: I’ve watched NONE of the videos and read very little of the story. My claims above may or may not be accurate.

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/01/10/unhinged-tactical-response-ceo-threatens-to-start-killing-people-over-obamas-gun-control/

….Update (11:15 a.m. ET): Yeager has replaced his YouTube video with an edited version that does not include the threat to “start killing people.” Raw Story preserved a copy of the original threat below.

Watch this portion of the video that James Yeager removed from the original clip, broadcast Jan. 9, 2013…..

UPDATE: Yeager uploaded a second video to YouTube on Thursday, in which he advised that no one should do “anything rash.” He added that he didn’t “condone anybody committing any kind of felonies up to and including any aggravated assaults or murders.” Watch the video below:…..

Two men walked the streets of Portland armed with assault weapons earlier this week because they said they wanted to “educate” residents, who reacted by fleeing and calling police.

Herb, please learn to write properly. There and their, there is a difference. There’s also a difference between through and threw. I’m pretty sure that Sandi doesn’t want you to suit her, she’d rather buy her own clothes.

  62. dobbs | January 12, 2013 at 10:54 am

Debbie, perhaps he thinks if he takes Sandi to court, it means he’s courting her. You know, as her suitor.

  63. Kristen | January 12, 2013 at 11:09 am

herb, whatever I called you, it wasn’t gay, trust me. I have plenty of gay friends none of whom go on line whining about how they’re going to sooooooooo.

“For gay rights yet u just through it in there face.”

    ??

  64. Debbie | January 12, 2013 at 11:17 am

I know Sandi, and he defintely doesn’t suit her, dobbs. :-)

see how libbies spread stupid rumors? it only takes a small minded person to add its own opinion to what someone else says and makes it true…pity contra, but then it only confirms my suspicions.

If herb uses a “smart” phone for commenting, he should definitely sue the company he bought it from.

  67. Debbie | January 12, 2013 at 11:22 am

pammala @ 8:59, did you really think I would have made a comment like that if I couldn’t back it up?

  68. pammala | January 12, 2013 at 11:24 am

love it when libbies add in their own thoughts when something is said,,its kind of like the game in kindergarten where you whisper in someone’s ear and the next person does the same and it the last person gets the message it is completely different than what was originally said… the same with libbies, they never did understand that it was a GAME.

    ScottM

UPDATE: Yeager uploaded a second video to YouTube on Thursday, in which he advised that no one should do “anything rash.” He added that he didn’t “condone anybody committing any kind of felonies up to and including any aggravated assaults or murders.” Watch the video below:…..

Watch the videos. When he said he didn’t condone anybody committing any felonies aggravated assaults or murders, he added “yet”,. And then he said when the time comes he’lllet you know.

    Herb,

Are you sure you don’t need a green card? Half the illegals in this country are far more capable of expressing themselves than you apparently can. If we were to pass a law mandating English as our only language, we’d be able to convict you for treason and desecrating the mother tongue.

Herb, meet Dr. Pimsleur, Dr. Pimsleur, this is Herb. Herb desperately needs your assistance, Dr. Pimsleur.

Your name was the only one Contra mentioned, so who exactly were you referring to in thiss comment, if not yourself? “see how libbies spread stupid rumors?”

My comprehension skills are just fine.

As for your other comment, I wasn’t dissing anyone for having a smart phone, I’m just saying if he is using a smart phone, it’s not living up to its name.

Get a sense of humor, pammala.

BTW I woke up in a great mood today. I took my mom to Billy’s restaurant for lunch today to celebrate her birthday. Great customer service there. When the waitress found out it was her b’day and that she loves lemon pie, she brought her a free slice of lemon cream pie. I just took a tiny bite of it, but it was delicious!

    Dan
Are you sure herb’s real name isn’t Steve Nelson?

  77. Kristen | January 12, 2013 at 4:12 pm

How was the food, Debbie? I’ve had various experiences and my friends have too. I really want it to survive if for no other reason than that outdoor area is so nice.

  78. Sandi Saunders | January 12, 2013 at 4:38 pm

LOL, pammala believes you can only be said to “accuse” if you use the word “accuse”. Sad.

Herb, having struggled to read your jabs for years now on The Round Table, I am more than sure that like your “boycotts” and other threats, you would “suit” me, the Roanoke Times, Dan, the RTEB or anyone else in a flaming second, if you could. Implied threats and insults are what you do. Go ahead and sue me so that the world will know the owner of your many archived posts. Please.

So is pammala a communist or not? Just asking…

“awww it looks like deb woke up in a bad mood..not even noon yet and already dissing someone because of a smart phone, get a grip hon”

Good god, pammala, please tell us you’re not really this dense. Surely you’re just joking around? Please.

  81. Debbie | January 13, 2013 at 9:27 am

Kristen, yesterday was only the second time I’ve eaten there, but their pork BBQ sandwich on challah bread rocks. It comes with slaw and is delicious, as are their sweet potato fries. I tried the grilled teriyaki chicken yesterday and it was meh. It was okay, but wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I had grilled asparagus with it, it was also okay, but the best grilled asparagus I’ve had comes from Firefly Fare. They grill it to perfection and Billy’s just couldn’t compare.

  82. Debbie | January 13, 2013 at 9:30 am

Hillary @ 4:56 pm I don’t think the communists are that desperate.

  83. Steve C | January 13, 2013 at 9:34 pm

    Kristen,

I’m a little put off by Billy’s kitchen. I ate there a few times and it seems amazingly inconsistent except for using too much salt on everything. We have a glut of great dining options in Roanoke lately but Billy’s currently isn’t one of them in my humble opinion.

That being said, I love the physical space. I learned to drink in that bar when I was 18. You used to be able to sit in front and watch the prostitutes peddle their wares for prospective customers out on Salem Ave. I also remember a sign on the Market Building that said “No Spitting On The Sidewalk”. My, how the market has changed.
