But Dan has omitted the biggest reason conservatives might remain anonymous, or at least the reason I do. It’s because we’re scared to death that our atrocious behavior on this blog will come back to bite us on the ass in real life. And just because I’m an advocate for people taking personal responsibility for what they say and do, I don’t think for a minute that I should have to do that myself.

But Dan has omitted the biggest reason conservatives might remain anonymous, or at least the reason I do. It’s because we don’t want leftwing cranks bothering us at our homes or taking quotes out of context to try to harm our businesses. And just because I’m a good enough sport that my motto is “what goes on here stays here”, I don’t think for a minute liberals in here would play by the same rules.

Keep in mind that she’s anonymously ignorant, along with Frank, applewood, Suzie, Leon, mikeO and some others.

That suggests a number of possibilities, including:

1) She’s a liberal masquerading as a conservative in order to make right-wing thinkers look dumb.

2) She’s a conservative who really believes the stuff she posts here, but realizes how insane it sounds, and would never want to attach her true identity to those views because it would be personally embarrassing.

If it’s the latter, you might want to express sympathy to her. Because it must be rough, living in a world where you can’t express your TRUE opinions without fearing that other people you respect would lose all respect for you.

There are other possibilities — those are but two. Whatever, it pretty much means the comments aren’t worth paying little attention to.
