A bear of a Sunday OPEN thread
“Those who have packed far up into grizzly country know that the presence of even one grizzly on the land elevates the mountains, deepens the canyons, chills the winds, brightens the stars, darkens the forest, and quickens the pulse of all who enter it. They know that when a bear dies, something sacred in every living thing interconnected with that realm . . . also dies.”
John Murray

Good morning, folks.
Why on earth did obama rebuff the republicans’ offer to give him control of the sequester cuts, thus allowing him to determine where those cuts go, and thus enabling him, and the liberals, to be the deciders…not the dividers?
obama has spent the past three weeks TRYING to scare the daylights out of his low-information voters about the sequester cuts…and then passes when given the oppertunity to look out for his low-information voters. Check out the link below, where just Friday, a “high-ranking official” (that would be obama….I’m serious! I can’t make that stuff up!) claimed that “The capital janitors, the security guards, would face a pay cut.”
–
According to the Capital Superintendent, Carlos Elias, and I’ll para-phrase here….”the president is LYING”!
–
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/sequestration-2013-capitol-staff-get-pay-assurance-88321.html?hp=l1
Nice explanation from Eric J. Seagall in the RT today as to how the conservative-led SC is NOT acting like the court the Founding Fathers designed and how they have actually become the ultimate “activist” court (my words, not his).
-
BTW, notice that right wingers don;t whine so much any more about “activist? courts now that their own guys are doing it?
Frank. It’s all about the low-information voters. The Democrat voting base is chock full of them, so Obama can pretty much say what he wants. And considering the fact Obama has had over four years in office without a skeptical press asking him tough questions, I would say he’s just doing what he can. Yes. He’s lying and his mindless sheep just can’t seem to get enough of it.
Hey KC, you are spot on. his top adviser and press secretary have joined the payroll as “political strategists” at NBC.
–
Who will watch the watchers?
“. . .And considering the fact Obama has had over four years in office without a skeptical press asking him tough questions, I would say he’s just doing what he can.. . .”
-Carolina Kid
How do we know if this is true? Simply consider:
-
1. The “press” did not thoroughly investigate whether Obama is “natural born.”
-
2. The “press” did not cover the passage of Obamacare or explain that it would cause all employers to drop insurance coverage and turn everyone into part time workers.
-
3. The “press” buried Wayne LaPierre’s prescient warnings that Obama would seize all guns, as he is doing now.
-
4. The “press” has suppressed startling evidence that Obam was married to a man, that he is a coke addict and that he ordered the assassination of a lover in Chicago.
-
5. The “press” failed to explain to the public that Dodd-Frank would ultimately shut down all the banks.
-
To sum it all up, “the press” failed to embrace crazy theories that have gained currency only because of the internet, and because of media outlets like Fox News, World Net Daily, National Review, the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, Infowars, Newsmax, and others.
-
Carolina Kid is saying the public has been cheated out of knowing this information. And the “proof” is that no reality-based person believes it!
#3 Speaking of mindless. I think this post, when coupled with Frank’s, just gave me a lobotomy.
wow, heads are starting to spin…again, well done, CK!
Here’s an interesting story on a subject rarely discussed on this blog. It does explain how the progressives are winning and conservative talk is on the decline. Advertisers are still moving ad money to different outlets. Directly as a result of the crazy talk we hear out of the likes of our teabagger friends right here, who love to parrot their fav psychopaths:
-
“When advertisers began fleeing from his program, Limbaugh dismissed the losses as akin to losing a “couple of French fries” and insisted that “nobody is losing any money here.” This position seemed less tenable after Limbaugh employed the services of a crisis manager to handle the fallout, and the right-wing talker’s protestations were proven false once financial reports started rolling in.
-
For example, Cumulus Media, a radio company that carries Limbaugh’s show in 38 markets, reported millions of dollars in lost revenue and attributed the losses in part to the Limbaugh advertiser fallout. Dial Global, a radio syndication company, reported roughly $100 million in losses for 2012 and publicly cited Limbaugh as a significant contributing factor.
Owing to the structure of radio advertising, the losses Limbaugh felt rippled outward, intensifying their effect. Reports indicate that 70 percent of advertisers didn’t know their ads were running during Limbaugh’s show. From my own extensive conversations with advertisers, I would say that more than half were not aware that their ads were running during Limbaugh’s show. That may seem unlikely, but it’s quite possible after you consider how the ads got there in the first place.”
-
http://mediamatters.org/blog/2013/03/01/rush-limbaugh-still-toxic-for-advertisers-one-y/192865
If you take the time to read the story, it’s not just El Rushbo that;s hurting, the entire neocon freak show industry is in freefall.
Wow, looks like the far left is close to blaming Rush Limbaugh for the economy’s failure to expand by an additional .5 percent last year! HaHa!
Mitt Romney, in his first sit down interview since his 2012 presidential defeat,
It’s Hard.
Ah, the Schadenfreude…
This is absolutely fascinating; medical science has finally cured a child who had HIV.
http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2013/03/03/173258954/scientists-report-first-cure-of-hiv-in-a-child-say-its-a-game-changer
This achievement begs the previously unthinkable; perhaps someday there may actually be a cure for the stupidity that infects the republican party.
Steve C, I think you just had a day dream buddy:
-
“day·dream (ddrm)
n.
A dreamlike musing or fantasy while awake, especially of the fulfillment of wishes or hopes.
intr.v. day·dreamed or day·dreamt (-drmt), day·dream·ing, day·dreams
To have dreamlike musings or fantasies while awake.”

Cold,
A guy can always hope…
Have any of you, my fellow bloggers, ever run into someone who couldn’t take “yes” for an answer?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/03/02/this-is-why-obama-cant-make-a-deal-with-republicans/?tid=socialss#.UTNSmoaY-w4.reddit
Hey Ron,
Your post above is very similar (not the specific details, just the irony of “deals” involving BOTH sides that don’t trust each other) to the one the republicans gave obama in the last several days concerning allowing him to control how the sequester cuts are made. He turned down being able to control how the cuts are made. Imagine that.
Cold n p,
….are you aware of Steve c’s day dreams? He’s pretty sensitive about ‘em.
Jimi Hendrix would have turned 70 this year. Tuesday’s release of People, Hell & Angels will be the first new material from the guitar icon in 43 years.
#16 Frank your obsession with Steve C is not the least bit humorous. Get over it.
Between the sinkhole and that young couple in NY, page 3 today was very depressing.
Dan–your pics of the Enchanted Forest trail @ Carvins Cove (that you’ve posted here before) don’t do the trail justice. Got to ride up there this weekend and it was incredible. Didn’t see any bears, but a few deer and bikers braved the snow flurries and wind. Saturday was an awesome day to be out using such a wonderful resource.
you do have a point, Debbie.
However, he has unleashed his nasty self for no good reason to some folks on this blog, sooo, i figure i can get him to unleash on me, and perhaps he’ll feel better, and not be so nasty to others.
So, Frank, being nasty to him is doing your good deed for the day? That bar’s not set too high, is it?
Debbie,
No, Debbie, it’s not a good deed. It’s how I deal with a bully.
Frank, No I don’t think Steve C is sensitive at all. I think he’s a glass half full kind of guy. I was just giving him a reality check. Not matter how bad we WANT the GOP to become a “Smarter” party or at least less Stupid, that’s not going to happen.
-
You prove my point every single day time and time and time again.
“Not matter how bad we WANT the GOP to become a “Smarter” party or at least less Stupid, that’s not going to happen.”
–Cold n P
-
I disagree. Everything is a pendulum, or a cycle if you will. The calender, seasons, fashion, politics, etc. The GOP used to be a lot smarter than it is now. Dumbness has been ascending. They can’t get much dumber though. They’ll start getting smarter soon.
frank @ 10:36,
Frank, that’s not fair and you know it. I suffer from an incurable allergy to stupid people which forces me to lash out at their very predictable comments. I believe we’ve gone over this a number of times, and as such I’m sure you remember that I’ve spent a small fortune trying to overcome my disability but to no avail. Of course you would expect a decent kindly person to make some allowance for my unfortunate condition, but frank just keeps blazing away posting some of the most inane things a person could, all the while doing his level best to impersonate the village idiot just so he drive me apoplectic with blind rage at his supposed stupidity. You’re not fooling anybody, frank; everybody knows your not really as ignorant as you present yourself and this is all a sophisticated ruse just to take advantage of my allergy to stupid people and enrage me. Is anybody still skeptical of franks evil intensions toward me? If so, I ask you this; count how many stupid things frank has posted in the last 24 hours and ask yourself if anyone could really be that dopey and still somehow manage to turn his PC on each morning and flail away at the keyboard producing this level of garbage? Of course not! See, it’s obvious frank just acts this way because he enjoys making me suffer. The kind, decent and humane thing for everyone to do is of course to ask frank to be nicer and more considerate and not bait me some much with all the pseudo nonsense he posts impersonating an uneducated meth addled hillbilly who failed his GED 12 times. Please, fellow bloggers, I beg of you; insist frank begins to comport himself to the high standards for civility this blog maintains by immediately dropping this whole shtick about him being such a dope just to egg me on. It’s a lie, frank, and now everybody knows you just act this way to pick on me. No one believes you could really be as delusional and misguided as the facade of the person you make yourself out to be.
Do the right thing and just stop it, okay? Have you no conscience? It’s inhumane how you treat me just to take advantage of my allergy to stupidity. I actually have it on very good authority that you actually DID pass your GED after the twelfth attempt, so just stop it, okay?
Frank, do you shout “Hey” before their name of everyone you meet every day?
–
And can you share with us why it is only the “nasty” that is “unleashed” by the left that bothers you? Do you find that hypocritical in yourself at all? Odd you you congratulate the right wingers who do what Steve C does…
Wow Dan, you are a real optimist.
Was it Einstein who said that the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits?
I don’t know what’s funnier, Dan thinking the GOTP will wise up before they go extinct or Steve C’s Brilliant comedic response to Frank.
-
Dan, all I can say is water always follows the path of least resistance which is down, all the way to the ocean. Water only rises when it evaporates into a gas and then falls back to the earth in the form of rain. So, are you suggesting we are going to have to witness the GOP bloat itself with stupidity for just a bit longer before the Party evolves into a giant gasbag and elevates itself out of it’s current state of stupidity?
-
Cue the Sonny and Cher anthem now…No not that one.. Here’s a good one:
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXzlIT_Q6IM
Cold, that might be the most bizarre music video I’ve ever seem. I hope Sonny realized how lucky he was that he had Cher.
I picked the song for its Bohemian influence. You know, for your eternally optimistic outlook? The Bohemian lifestyle was known for its creativity, optimistic outlook, live and let live attitude towards others, You get it, the “Beat goes on Generation?” Frank lives by it too.

Gee Frank. You’re so considerate and unselfish. Snort! Your Juvenile
Attempts at siCK humor Are both aSinine and Silly.
h/tto Contrasuzie
Folks, this isn’t all about me. In the spirit of complete disclosure, I think it’s fair that everyone knows that this little tit-for-tat between frank and I isn’t only about my handicap. This has also been driven in part by frank’s imperfections as well; frank does his best to hide it but he also suffers from a debilitating condition that he’s also sought help from the medical community as I did (and yes, psychiatric counseling DOES fall under the umbrella of medical treatment as defined by Medicaid). Anywho, I digress. I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that to say that frank is a little sensitive to anything that could remotely be construed as being slightly critical. The result, of course is that in spite of the fact he’s an anonymous poster in a blog chat room, frank has a tendencies to cry like a misbehaving two year old who’s gotten spanked whenever anyone attempts to gently remonstrate any of the many dopy tirades he posts on a daily basis. He’s not just being sensitive, folks, he’s actually suffering through a personal hell far worse than any of you could ever imagine; you see, frank has a rare affliction known as “Teaparty And Republican Douchebag Syndrome”, or TARDS for short. TARDS causes its host, on account of their misguided political affiliation, to be unusually sensitive from anything resembling criticism from those with college educations, professional designations, exceptional creativity, higher incomes or the ability to effectively communicate an idea using the English language. And to the consternation of the afflicted, people possessing these traits tend to be liberals, moderates or recently disavowed fiscal conservatives who bolted the “big tent” because of the recent onset of TARDS within their previous party. I know this seems difficult to grasp for normal people, but a person suffering from TARDS would view what most of us recognize as harmless humor and extrapolate out to be an affront to their perceived (real) lack of successful attributes, even when presented in an innocuous format like an anonymous blog, and then internalize the comment as a grievous slight against their character or lack of education. Folks, this is why poor frank spends roughly half of his day fantasizing about yours truly; the poor guy thinks everything I post on this blog is attacking his poorly conceived and worded diatribes. OTOH, he’s also smarting pretty good about how I postulate that the root of his communication issues is often due to him not being remotely as smart or as well educated as I am, a fact unlikely to change unless I get hit by a meteor or a piano dropped from the forth story of a building I happen to be walking under. Further, any of the regulars will attest that I only spend a small percentage of my time reminding frank of his inadequacies. The rest is purely due to franks affliction from TARDS. The rest, as they say, is history. Now everyone knows why, when I post something completely innocent, frank just picks up the fumble and runs with it. Unfortunately, due to his disability, he usually runs the wrong way up the field and ends up scoring the winning touchdown for the opposing team (me) on the last play of the game. This just ends up pouring more salt into his gaping head wound and causing him to thrash around even more, making the concussion even that much metaphorically worse.
Anyway, I hope this insight helps to explain what drives frank’s unexplainable and erratic behavior. Ya’ll make sure you cut him some slack; he’s a little touched…
You always have the option of ignoring him, Frank.
Now Debbie, you know it is only the liberals who are supposed to ignore the baiting, insults and jabs, ’cause we are s’posed to be “tolerant” don’tcha know?
My bad, Sandi. I forgot.
hey Cold, thanks for noting my favorite s&c tune. ketchy, isn’t it?
and dan, no doubt sonny did…and that he’d hold on as long as he could.
and wayne, i do try to be considerate.
and steve c, thanks for what you had to say.
no sandi, i congratulate folks who offer compelling information to you libs which leaves your heads spinning….figuratively of course. kinda like terps did on another thread about the squatter.
and debbie…it’s kinda hard to ignore, ya know? and, i think i just learned more about my behavior from steve’s post above than I could have ever imagined…or is it his behavior? hmmm? well, he says he’s got a master’s degree, so it must be his behavior. but, i’ll try to be good.
Art Hill, this JImi release looks interesting. All the tracks have been listed in discographies, some are from the early days of Electric Lady, and the Lonnie Youngblood cut comes from Chalpin sessions that will still have unreleased stuff after this. Valley’s of Neptune was considered new Hendrix, even though the raw tracks had floated around in bootleg versions, but the official release had them finished better than the Crash Landing or (especially) Cry of Love projects back in the 70′s. I don’t think they’ve overdubbed the latest, just tweaked the sound.
What we really need now is the complete film and soundtrack of both ’67 Royal Albert Halls shows, of which only a couple cuts have officially made it out (mislabeled on Jimi In The West, causing a lawsuit) along with the complete Jimi Plays Berkeley concert, including the never shown songs.
Here’s info on the RAH shows, which were definitely filmed in their entirely, as was Berkeley.
http://www.theworld.org/2013/02/new-recording-jimi-hendrix/
BTW, when the last JH boxset came out a few years ago, I saw a copy at a store with a point of purchase sticker affixed that said “Perfect For Dad”. I had to laugh at how things had changed 180 degrees since the days when Are You Experienced? was a quintessential indicator of generational tastes.
Frank that is patently untrue and I already showed you this once! What you “congratulate” is “folks who offer compelling” insults you like and approve of.

perfect, terps.”
–
And that was just one day.
Go ahead Frank, tell us the “compelling information” in either of the posts you applauded.
hi there, Sandi!
i applaud the fact that terps had the temerity to draw, for the benefit of the libs on the thread, the similarities between what the squatter doing, and to what many American people feel is happening to them concerning libs not keeping their hands in their own pockets, and away from other folks’ wallets.
__
please follow this example, Sandi:
the republicans gave obama his tax increases on the rich about 10 weeks ago, (and sadly, looked the other way when obama allowed the FICA taxes to rise back to where they were two years ago, which really hurt the working poor…).
now, Obama has been braying to the American people for the last month or so about how the sequester was going to ruin the economy and maim (figuratively, Sandi) little kiddies…all because he…wants…MORE…taxes!
__
what folks are learning about this whole sordid sequester mess is that a true lib’s appetite for more taxes will never be sated. nor will a wily squatter’s appetite for free stuff ever be sated……and both will lie, lie, lie, and bald-faced lie some more in their desperate attempts to fufill their insatiable need.
.__
Sandi, i think that’s the parallel terps was drawing with his posts. And, that’s why i responded as i did. ta da!
“please follow this example, Sandi:
the republicans gave obama his tax increases on the rich about 10 weeks ago, (and sadly, looked the other way when obama allowed the FICA taxes to rise back to where they were two years ago, which really hurt the working poor…).”
–Frank
-
Frank is attempting to suggest that Obama got what he wanted re: “tax increases on the rich.” That’s inaccurate and he knows it.
-
Obama’s has long advocated increasing income taxes to pre-Bush taxcut levels for individuals earning more than $200k and couples earning more than $250K. This would affect 1.3 percent of income tax filers. In essence this was a REPUBLICAN position that was explicit in the original Bush-tax-cuts legislation. The GOP wrote that law. It posited that all the Bush tax cuts would revert to their pre-Bush-tax-cut levels after 10 years.
-
The Republicans never “gave” that to Obama. The farthest they would go — after a 4-year battle over the subject — was increasing taxes on income above $400k for individuals and above $450k for couples. This affects .7 percent of income tax filers.
-
What actually happened is they DIDN’T give Obama what he wanted, despite what Frank and Henry and the other GOP mouthpieces proclaim. They moved the goal posts, and they “gave” the president half of what he wanted. Why in the world would anyone expect him to stop pushing for everything he wanted? For goodness sakes, he’s been jawboning about it for 5 years.
hey dan,
we continue to borrow over 40 cents of each 100 cents we spend.
__
the republicans haven’t gotten much from obama in spending reductions either, dan.
__
looks to me that neither got what they wanted…so, we all get the sequester…and those of us paying taxes will need to be ever watchful of the ever-tighter grip that libs desire to have on our wallets.
hey dan,
….to borrow from Steve Jobs…., “but, there’s one more thing…”
__
regarding obama’s campaigning style, I like the word “braying” much better than your word “jawboning”….but there are similarities.
So in your mind Frank, a “compelling” insult is really discussion and debate. Well remember that the next time you want to whine about the atmosphere here and why it turns toxic.
–
I have yet to figure out why you think it is only “libs not keeping their hands in their own pockets, and away from other folks’ wallets”. That is not only incorrect, it is downright dishonest.
–
If Medicare and Social Security are entitlements not earned, do you know any conservatives over 68 not in either program? Do you know any conservatives who are getting a disability check? Please stop insulting intelligence. You know better.
No frank, that’s just what John Boehnor and his boot licking lackeys are neck-puking. Since you choose to get your news from inferior sources populated by second string media hacks, ignorance is in fact a permissible excuse in your case. The “Garbage in/Garbage out” analogy somebody else recently used on the blog is beautifully illustrated in this example by you parroting this dopey nonsense. Please stop polluting the blog with your misinformed grab-assing, skylarking and tom foolery. You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. That’s why you have me, frank. Just leave the intellectual heavy lifting to the adults and you go busy yourself trying to find an on-line coupon for denture adhesive or something.
well, sandi, who besides libs have been going around the country …braying… that taxes need to be raised? and, they have the gall to do so just 10 weeks after getting their tax increase on the rich?
hey kiddies, here’s ol’ steve c with is childish potty mouth!
___
stev, are you SERIOUS about referring to bodily functions on the blog? ….”neck-puking?”…. really?
___
that right up there with Art Hill’s famous…”blow it out your ass!” quote.
___
Hey all you libs…which one do you all like the best? Steve c’s, or Art Hill’s?
The winner will be what you guys get to have as your mantra!
“The Republicans never “gave” that to Obama. The farthest they would go — after a 4-year battle over the subject — was increasing taxes on income above $400k for individuals and above $450k for couples.”
.
and
.
“Why in the world would anyone expect him to stop pushing for everything he wanted?”
.
Funny. I always thought that’s what compromise was. When each side gets part of what they want but concedes part of what the other side wants as well. Apparently the liberal version of compromise means make demands, get part of what you want, but then instead of being willing to give a little to the other side, continue to demand everything you wanted like a petulant child. No wonder Congress can’t get anything done.
Don’t look now, but Chuck has just undermined one of the conservatives’ dominant memes regarding the evils of President Obama — that he refuses to compromise.
That’s a lie, of course, but it was nice for Chuck to have admitted it.
Frank, “neck-puking” is pretty much the perfect description of your posts. Your words make about as much sense as staring a partially digested congealing pool of the last two days meals you’ve consumed mixed with about 12 shots of rot gut room temp. Montezuma tequila floating on top. It just works. Own it, buddy.
Besides, frank, in the spirit of the blog’s new found civility, I’m prohibited from using the byproduct from a previously constipated bull to describe your posts. “Neckpuke” is about the tamest description of the epic waste of bandwidth that results from your abuse of the first amendment.
Frank | March 5, 2013 at 12:39 pm

The President wanted to close LOOPHOLES
Wow my last post self submitted before I hit the submit button…
—
My point to Frank was, as soon as the President touched the third rail of Tax Loopholes for corporations – those which allow them to pay NO federal taxes, the republicans were no longer interested in “compromise”.
Frank, many of the best economists in this nation as well as the rating agencies have all basically said that we need to both cut spending and raise revenues to even hope to get the debt paid off and eliminate the deficits each year.
–
Obama asked for the tax rate increase over the debt ceiling and yes, he got that but it is not enough. The needed loophole closing or the Buffet rule or some mechanism to stop the tax breaks that only the wealthy benefit from has GOT to be part of the package if we are asking the workers and retirees to sacrifice. That is plain, humanity and common sense. It cannot be only the workers and the elderly who sacrifice.
–
I thank God that someone is “going around the country …braying… that taxes need to be raised” and that the inequality and growing abyss in this nation needs our attention. I cannot fathom anyone not understanding that need, but you and pammala certainly come close to explaining it.
–
Granted you do not sound wealthy, but even if you are, surely you are still aware of the disparity in incomes and wages that is seeing the middle class shrink and low wage jobs grow while the rich just get richer and pay less and less of a percentage of their income in taxes.
–
Defend that if you like, I won’t.

Actually Frank, either one, when applied to you, is totally appropriate.
I will not go so far as to claim collusion but Frank’s efforts to take up Suzie’s slack while she sacrifices “through prayer, penance, repentance, alms-giving, and self-denial” for Lent…well to some extent anyway, but I must say that he is a great stand in and equally good at making me dread opening the site.
–
You all enjoy your evening, I will leave you to it.
“I will not go so far as to claim collusion”
Better not, the host doesn’t like it.
God help me, Frank makes me miss Suzie. Every post of franks that I read drains a little of will to live.
ok, wayne likes both expressions. now wayne, since you like them both, I expect to see you start using them in equal fashion at every opportunity, ok?
__
anybody else care to chime in with whether they like steve c’s “neck puking” comment better than art hill’s “blow it out your ass” comment. so far with one ballot cast, we have a tie.
kristen,
how can i be having so much fun and you’re not? that’s not good. in fact, it’s down-right unfare for me to have more fun than you. ok, i’m gonna help you, here’s what you can do….throw off the shackles of liberalism. Just throw ‘em off, or shrug your way out out of ‘em. you will almost immediately feel better, and smarter. then, begin looking at things threw the eyes of a conservative, and soon you will see the absolute fallacy, lunacy, lies, distortions, and contortions of what the libs post on this blog, and then you’ll start to laugh! It’s a great relaxation effort, as well as a stress reliever. it is a never ending parade of commedy!
you realize of course, that “laughter is the best medicine”!
and, Suzie will return soon!
This is rich, I tell you; the clown who fritted away countless hours on this blog fantasying about the most intimate details of the sexual escapades of President Clinton in an all-too-graphic manner is now is now feigning moral offense at the use of the term “neckpuke”.
Frank, you make this too easy. This is like taking candy from a baby, except the baby wouldn’t cry as much.
frank at 8:11,
“ok, i’m gonna help you, here’s what you can do….throw off the shackles of liberalism. Just throw ‘em off, or shrug your way out out of ‘em. you will almost immediately feel better, and smarter.”
frank here is describing the period he became a ‘winger. This event also occurred roughly about the same time he underwent a medical procedure commonly referred to as a frontal lobotomy. If ignorance is bliss, you can pretty much guarantee that you’re at a republican nomination convention surrounded by a bunch of very happy people wearing bow ties and ridiculous elephant hats and carrying on like frank.
Damn right he’s happy; he can’t even remember what year it is.
“God help me, Frank makes me miss Suzie.’
I have a feeling “she’s” closer than you think.
hey steve c,
you know, you better break in those new knee pads…work out the… stiffness….because ol’ bill’s gonna be doing some stumping in Virginia for mcawful, and you know he’ll be comin’ round the mountain to roanoke sooner or later, eh!?
Art, i think you’re losing the vote for “best childish playground phrase” to steve c.
i never did say that you couldn’t vote for your own childish playground phrase, and by that measure steve c is starting to pull away with his “neck puking” comment over your “blow it out your ass” comment.
personally, i like your’s over steve c’s, so that puts you guys back in a tie, as wayne and steve c vote for “neck puking”, and wayne and i vote for “blow it out your ass”. all it takes for you to push it over the edge (along with steve c) is for you to endorse your phrase over steve c’s phrase….and you win! and steve c loses!
Hey, maybe we’ll even get some more votes in the meantime! come on libs, which of the above two childish playground phrases, uttered by true-blue libs… do you libs vote in as your lib mantra? huh?

As much as I’m sure Kristen would occasionally like to, I’m fairly sure that hurling someone’s eyeballs is illegal.
“Art, i think you’re losing the vote for “best childish playground phrase” to steve c.”
Wrong, Frank, you took it long ago wour WAAAAY overused and infantile “kneepads” comment. You just can’t keep your mind off those oral and other thoughts, can you?
Frank may be onto something here. If we’re going to have a vote let’s make it meaningful. Let’s ask Dan to have a thread each day where we can all go to vote for the blog jackass of the day. And then each Saturday we could vote for the blog jackass of the week. That way we could eliminate all the rest of the intemperate name calling. Just go to the jackass thread at the end of the day and cast your vote. We might even allow for splitting the vote into halves or thirds when there are particularly deserving candidates. And of course at the end of the year we could have the blog jackass of the year. If Dan’s sensitivity or that of his bosses objected to the word jackass, we could call it the donkey instead of the jackass, but we would all know we meant jackass.
This would give Frank something to strive for each day since he clearly craves the attention that such a prestigious award would bring him It might even foster a spirit of camaraderie as bloggers could enlist the help of their
fellow bloggers to help them win the honor. And Frank’s competition would be tough. I can see Awood and Henry and Leon and Wally W and pammala
and even terps on a good day as strong contenders. I for one would be happy to devote whatever blogging skills I may have to help Frank win this prestigious award. We could even conduct a little test vote and have everyone
who would like to help Frank out in his quest for a vote to post by noon tomorrow their selection for jackass ( or donkey) of the day for Tuesday.
I’ll start off. Frank gets my vote for today hands down.
Come on Dan, how about it?
“Frank may be onto something here.”
“Frank” can’t even get the quote right, much less be on to something. Sockpuppet theater, my sawbuck still stands.
hiya, Art!
Why don’t you repeat the phrase you said i mis-quoted.
And, maybe Steve c will repeat his, and then Dan can call for the vote for the “most childish potty playground comment by a lib on Dan’s Blog!most”.
hey gdad,
why am i the only one looking out for steve c’s comfort after he goes off the rails?
Hey J.M.,
I think “hurling eyeballs” is ok, just as long the hurler has a permit, and the hurling being done isn’t done within 500 feet of a restaurant. If there isn’t a permit process in a respective locality, i think kristen can petition the local gov’mint, and get one established. after that, then all who wish to hurl eyeballs can pay their fees, and…..holy cow! maybe the new revenue stream would bring our real estate and personal property taxes down, or feed another purportedly starving kiddie.
__
Hey J.M., THAT is a fee i support!
And, i know that the liklihood of taxes going down is next to zero, ’cause the lib gov’mint is very adept at creating starving kiddies to frighten good-hearted Americans to pay more taxes.
frank,
No none cares.
Steve C @ 11:37 Amen!
