Your daily Letters to the Editor — March 2, 2013

Many things threaten our country. The most dangerous will be the cosmetic change of the Republican Party. House Speaker John Boehner said, “we learned our lesson” when, after being taken to the woodshed a few years ago, the party won back a majority at some levels of government.

But it had not changed. Republicans have proven this over and over, crushing women’s rights, rigging votes through redistricting, trying all possible ways to fix elections, wanting to change the electoral college process.

They have obstructed all attempts to deal with equality; none stood when the president mentioned better education for all kids during the State of the Union.

They are trying all shenanigans possible, even changing their minds now on immigration, something they sternly opposed until after the November elections.

Beware, America, they are still the party of power and greed, pushing a nationwide power grab, arrogantly out of touch with reality and voters. True Americans can restore democracy and end the Republican dictatorship; just don’t fall for the phony change gimmick.

Obama’s re-election is part of God’s plan

I’ll admit to being a little confused by all the letters since November about how God will punish America for re-electing President Obama. These folks can take comfort in the Bible: Paul says clearly in Romans that those in authority are there because God wants them there. God has a plan for America, even if we can’t see it — or don’t want to.

John Lafon is absolutely right. The entire recent Republicon conversation has not been how to adapt to changing demographics and adopt policies that are mor in line with andfavorable to the things favored by a ma

Oops! Accidentally hit the submit button before I was finished!

….. the things favored by a majority of Americns. Instead, the conversation has been about how to make it SOUND like they are changing while reaslly changing nothing.

The Republicans basically have done a good job of misleading and relying on people not thinking; for instance we have a friend on disability who has no clue that the Republicans would take this away in a minute.

    ‘crushing women’s rights’?

oh brother you are almost as good a drama queen as barry soetoro…no ‘rights’ have been crushed, you must be talking about murdering unborn children…oh well, lets get on a discussion about the difference between gun killing and doctors killing…

oh and rigging votes, do you want to discuss the multiple and paid for votes by dems, remember acorn and all the nuts connected to that…yes true Americans can restore democracy, just not while the little dictator is still occupying the White House.

I truly believe that God put obama back in for a second term…to let him shoulder all of the problems he has created. The $$ spent on his golf trip with Tiger could have saved 341 furloughed jobs. He continues to paint himself into a corner.

Oh, Lawdy…this sequestration is just the worst…half-.dead children laying in the streets….Elderly have been knocking on my door this a.m. looking for cans of dog and cat food….Land-a-goshen what ever will we do ? A massive cut of .03 cents on the dollar…I`m headin` for the hills people, obama has said the world is ending as we know it and I just can`t bear to watch. Oh, parting is such sweet sorrow ! Goodbye cruel world, goodbye.
