The Post of the Day is a declaration of ‘Reality’
Note from Dan: Today’s thigh-slapper is from Awood, the self-professed “Reality King,” a right-winger who’s made more bizarre and unreal statements here so far this year than just about any other poster. (To a certain extent this is because of the Lenten season.) Below is his 2-part declaration from earlier today, followed by a few (but by no means all) of Awwod’s ‘greatest hits.’
“Reality is just a constant with me, Dan…I live with it day-in and day-out. You ought to try it sometime. I`ll grant you one thing, its not always easy, but I can handle it, unlike you obviously. The `ol “Spend more than you bring in“ comes to mind. Now that, my friends, is just good `ol down-home completely `out of touch with reality` camp. Anyone for a chorus of Kum beh yah before we braid our daisies?
Oh, and Dan ??? While we wait, would you please list ALL of the `misinformation` that you speak of in post #31 ? You see, I`m a perfectionist and would feel much better about myself if I could correct the `misinformation`….would certainly hate to misinform anyone. Also, `espouse` would have been much more pallatable than `spout` coming from the `Prince of the paper`. We`re waiting.”

Kristen…your post #4 …Given the fact that this came from the Huffington post, it is surely a lie. The left-stream media will do and say anything to get their way…“The ends justify the means“. Saul Alinsky(Dead) Note: The statement was by Machievelli.
…
1.20.13
Note: Regarding his misquote of ‘Jeffreson’ Ron….Whether he said it or not has no bearing on anything. It is a true and corect statement regarding `CONTROL`. Sheesh… Is that all that you can conjure up, Ron?
…
1.20.13
Ron, If you choose to believe the liberal lies, then so be it. You obviously have never read Alinsky. If you had, you would be familiar with his ideology. These `links` you post mean nothing.. The New York Times, Huffington Post, Washington Post are in the tank with Obama and will say and do anything to promote their failing ideology, which includes lying to the public to advance their cause. You can break through your little bubble if you`ll push hard enough…just don`t soil your diapers in the process. Note: If Awood had ever read Alinsky, it’s unlikely he’s be attributing things to him that Machiavelli said.
…
1.20.13
Note: Regarding Awoods misquote of ‘Jeffreson.’ To me, it really doesn`t matter..If I made a mistake, so be it. As I told Mr. Casey, it doesn`t matter who said it, its true. And after all, thats what we`re about …the truth. Too bad you girls wouldn`t know the truth if it hit you in the face.

#75…Mr. Beason.. You and the left are very naive. Sheeple, if you will. Once and for all, the Obamas, Bidens, Cuomos of the world want ALL….ALL guns taken away from the public. Its the ONLY way they will ever be able to control us and reach the pinnacle of power that they SOOOO desire. They anguish in the fact that they`ll never be able to reach that goal, but they continue to `nudge`…and they USE pawns such as yourself to advance their causes. You`ve been had… Bad. Note: In another post, Awood boasted that 65 million guns have been sold since Obama took office.
…
1.23.13
#49…The Huffington Post has been proven to spread nothing but LIES to spread thier ideology. NOTHING they print could be further from the truth…Same with the Washington Post, New York Times…LIARS for the MESSIAH Obama. Newsweek is finding out what happens when you continue to LIE, yet they keep right on with the biased lies…Now, that is the epitome of stupidity.
…

Dr. [Martin Luther] King was a Conservative. Call him a radical progressive revolutionary all you want. Note: The historical record is clear that it was conservatives who fought the civil rights struggles and laws that the Rev. Martin Luther King championed.

1.25.13
Now, you won`t read this in a liberal-biased paper(duh), but it appears that KimJong Il`s son has said that he is planning on nuking the USA…O.K. .. this guy obviously has a screw/2 lose, which makes it all the more scary….Just thought you moronic liberals would want to start the process of lining up a good lawyer for him. That is what you would do, is it not? Note: This has been all over the news this past week.
…
1.29.13
Sandi…`quoting Alinsky a hoot`? No you don`t …it literally bothers the hell out of you that the moron is quoted. Note:
He earlier attributed a quote by Machiavelli to Saul Alinksy.

The good(armed) people of this Nation will rise like a Phoenix from the fire in every spot that you can imagine…Every City, Town, Hamlet, from the Countrysides…to protect their localities from the feds coming in to take guns, etc. Montana is already in the process of this….Passing a law to Procecute and Jail Federal Agents for attempts at unconstitutional gun-grabs and, if they decide to come here and take ours, we`ll be there, locked and loaded to make sure they are `neutralized`…… Think it can`t happen ? Hang around. Really…what meds are you on?
(And those were culled merely from a 10-day stretch of Awood’s bizarre and insulting meanderings on this blog).

Aww, c’mon, Dan. You libs didn’t sweat the details with obuma’s health care bill. Awood speaks truth to power.
Awood’s definition of the word “lie”, taken from Awood’s one word dictionary:
“Anything with which I, Awood, do not agree is a ‘lie’.”
Frank,
The ACA was not Obama’s idea. It was the Heritage Foundation’s idea. That’s a conservative think tank, just fyi. Its president is RWer extraordinaire Jim DeMint. Had Romney been elected president in 2008, something very similar would have passed and you wouldn’t be making a peep out it. Nor would Awood. You guys only hate it because it was enacted under Obama. Your opposition is personal, as opposed to principled.
For the record (and I’ve said this many times before) there’s a lot I don’t like about ACA. Medicare for all would have been a MUCH better solution than a plan that requires everyone to buy private insurance. But the ACA is a step in the right direction, and it’s better than what we had before.
So many things that I could say, but, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all, so I’ll refrain.
This did make me laugh out loud though.
Note: Regarding Awoods misquote of ‘Jefferson.’ To me, it really doesn`t matter..If I made a mistake, so be it. As I told Mr. Casey, it doesn`t matter who said it, its true. And after all, thats what we`re about …the truth. Too bad you girls wouldn`t know the truth if it hit you in the face.
well, dan, ahh, you guys STILL didn’t sweat the details, did ya?
so, neither does Awood. He still speaks truth to power, and lets others do the niggling over the details.
and, if you’re so hung up on principles, you should thank your lucky stars for all the support obama gets from hollywood film and video makers.
“Awood is a lying nitwit” – Thomas Jefferson
Notice how these insult trolls all have the same MO and constantly slap each other on the back? 10 bucks says they’re the same person. Enjoy the day!
The simpler question would have been “what has awood ever been right about?”
(Cue the sound crickets… A dog braking three or four blocks away…A random drip in the basement from a piece of bad plumbing…The noise from some guy revving his Harley downtown 3 miles away…The distant sound of continents drifting apart over millennium…)
And in spite of this shallow and dull cacophony, still no answer about any salient points awood’s made on the blog. Just another ‘winger trying to fit 11lbs of BS in a 10 gallon hat.
Art Hill,
That’s a lot of different IP addresses for one person to have.
What the hell does he “speaks truth to power” mean anyway?
Awood hasn’t clue what he’s talking about.
Frank | March 9, 2013 at 4:23 pm
Aww, c’mon, Dan. You libs didn’t sweat the details with obuma’s health care bill. Awood speaks truth to power.
There goes Frank with the Obuma crap again. He wants the rules enforced, just not for him.
“What the hell does he “speaks truth to power” mean anyway?”
–gdad
It means, gdad, that Frank believes I am very powerful. Which is just another sign of Frank’s inanity.
“That’s a lot of different IP addresses for one person to have.”
It can be done. Man, what a gorgeous sunset!
This thread reminds me of a very famous line from the movie “Forrest Gump”
Anybody want to guess which one?
if you don’t have anything nice to say…
then come and sit by me! (attrib. Dorothy Parker according to rumor, but I’m claiming Thomas Jefferson said it)
Art Hill: Notice how these insult trolls all have the same MO and constantly slap each other on the back? 10 bucks says they’re the same person.
Take note of Frank steering clear in post #5. He can’t refute what Dan had to say, so he does a clumsy segue to a landmine field of a topic and dares people to set foot on it. Every single one of our cantankerous regulars does chicanery like this. Frank is a novice at such traps compared to other folks on this blog.
look gdad, i’m all for one and one for all…rules, ya know? no, you probably don’t, do you?
hey Pirengle, that’s why i would, ahh, “never” set traps for you “smart” folks! The only one who hasn’t yet figured it out is steve c!
obuma’s aca bill is a pathetic monstrositiy of government over-reach, and nobody yet knows whats in the details…even you libs.
dan,
i guess ifigure you for having some power, since it’s your blog, dan.
you do have the power to determine which posts make it on, and which don’t. i’d say, within the context of your blog, dan, that’s kinda like absolute power, isn’t it? i mean, it’s not the same as obama not wanting to give up his tenuous hold on believing he has the power to kill by drone an un-armed American citizen chilling at a Starbucks cafe, for being involved in the implementation of an act of terrorist mayhem within our borders, you know?
But, you do rule over all things on this blog, just the same. And, which i support!
You’ve got the power, Dan! Wield it wisely!
Awood,
Congrats; they named a brewery after you. That’s quite an accomplishment. We’re all very proud of you.

steve c gets my nod for post of the day, hilarious!!!:

When one cannot refute facts, one will divert attention from them.
Some on this blog do this very well. cough, cough [Atwood, Frank...]
Love that brewery’s motto, Steve C. They have some interesting flavors. Oyster Wasabi Stout, among others.
He who has no name has an ass fetish to go along with his neck-puking.
what an “it”!
#7 Thanks for making my day, that was plain damn funny.
Dan@3. . .think you need to change your tune on the Heritage Foundation; but they will provide you a free course on understanding the constitution which, IMO, you and every liberal progressive could use.
http://www.heritage.org/research/projects/the-case-against-obamacare
Dan, TJ was pro-gun. . .here’s a quote you won’t dispute:
“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government”
– Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
Dan, Awood only off by a mere 2.0 million guns. . .Wow:
In the four years since Barack Obama was first elected president in November 2008, an estimated 67 million firearms have been purchased in the United States. That’s more than were sold in almost seven years before his first election.

Dan, MLK endorsed conservative principals; somewhat the definition of a
consverative:
http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2006/01/martin-luther-kings-conservative-legacy
Four strikes on your Lypocrisy Dan. . .you be out. IMO, Awood makes a whole lot more sense than the Liberal Progressives posting on this blog
particularly those who only post to abuse others points which they cannot
refute. . .Lypocrisy dogs!
Since liberals are referred to as liberal progressives on this blog, shall the liberals start referring to conservatives as, conservative regressives?
Debbie | March 11, 2013 at 12:19 pm
And to think that one of the leading liberal progressive here objected to me referring to myself as pro-freedom / pro-liberty.
Do you also think Conservatives should start referring to all liberals as Suppressive Liberals, Oppressive Liberals, Tyrannical Liberals, etc.
There are clearly some indivitual Liberals that have a clear authoritarian streak and some individual Conservatives who have clear regressive streak. But not all of either camp, IMHO.
However, your proposal does nothing to improve dialogue, meaningful debate, understanding, consensus building, etc.
Your proposal is a prescription for more name calling, shouting matches, incivility, etc.
Dave Hicks, I did forget to note that my comment was sarcasm. I thought it was apparent. Sorry that I don’t take all of the conversations on here as seriously as some of you do.
#26 Sorry but using made-up words like “lypocrisy” won’t help your credibility any, Leon.

Leon, you should listen Steven K…he’s trying to do you a favor.

XXX Says who ? ? ?
Pretty sure that ship sailed a while ago.
For God’s sake, Leon, what is it with you ‘wingers and your questions? Do you not read English? Steven K and your ol’ buddy Steve C are going out of their way to help you not virtually project your inner wing ‘tard and you’re just biting the hand that feeds you.
Jeez, talk about no good deed going unpunished…
Leon, it’s obvious you’re a bit of a slow learner (ok, actually a lot of a slow learner), so I’m going to give you a bit of friendly advice; at your current developmental stage don’t waste any more time struggling with your ABC’s. You’re going to be far better off just following the advice of the 2 Steve’s so you don’t embarrass yourself anymore.
K.I.S.S., and just do as we suggest and it’s highly unlikely your internet persona will incur additional harm.
Do not hesitate to reach out if I may be of further assistance.
Steve C @ 35. . .LYPOCRISY
Congrats, Leon; in just in one short day we’ve moved you from 2 syllable to 4 syllable replies. This is remarkable progress for a ‘winger and we’re all very proud of you.
My goal for this week is to graduate you up to a complete sentence. Hang in there, sunshine; I know you can do it!
More often than not it appears that liberal progressives cannot refute the points I make (ref post 26). This is a similiar scenerio that Awood encounters and laments with his post of the day. But take heart; Awood,
we do no real harm to the liberal progressives by exposing them to truth.
They cannot deal with truth as it makes them resort to mindless blather as demonstrated by Steve C & Steven K. but; when one is stupid as they demonstrate; they have a right to show it off sometimes. Are you guys
Sandi’s kids?
“More often than not it appears that liberal progressives cannot refute the points I make (ref post 26). This is a similiar scenerio that Awood encounters and laments with his post of the day. But take heart; Awood.”
–Leon
Leon, it’s not that we can’t refute them. It’s simply that the points are garbage; they’re not worth refuting.
Leon…
“More often than not it appears that liberal progressives cannot refute the points I make (ref post 26).”
I hates to break it to ya, but if you link to other people’s opinions, they aren’t really yours. The link you provide to the Heritage Foundation’s take on Martin Luther King as a “real” conservative is garbage. The only kind of person who could possibly take it seriously would be someone who is particularly ignorant of Dr. King’s life.
For those on the blog who had the good sense not to venture into the Heritage foundation site for fear of killing brain cells or temporarily disrupting digestive processes, I’ll summarize the article concerning Dr. King: He was a real conservative because he was a real Christian.
That’s quite a different attitude that existed when conservatives like J. Edgar Hoover were convinced that he was a shill for the Communists and and immoral “tomcat”. Old J Edgar would be spinning in his grave had he read that particular attempt to frame the man only in terms of his religion.
That seems to be the only aspect of conservatism that matters in this case. It certainly doesn’t say anything about Dr. Kings views on the appropriate size of government, the appropriate role of the Supreme Court, or what kinds of economic policies a government should endorse. (I’ll give you hint Leon, there’s a good reason those considerations aren’t mentioned in that article.)
But hey Leon, if you can come up with some credible sources that show Dr. King wanted to limit the powers of the Court, or was a free market wizard, or where he advocated for a limited role of government in people’s lives, we can move forward from there. You’ll have to make the stuff up or find someone else who did. No problem there.
Leon, between you, Awood, and HayFrank we have to pick our battles. If we tried to counter every single bit of nonsense on the screen we’d burn out quickly.
Leon,
If a newbie reader stumbled on to this particular thread without having the benefit of knowing any of our backgrounds, 3 things would be abundantly obvious to them;
1-Steve C is a comedic genius of epic proportions.
2-Earlier today, frank suddenly got sucked of a virtual black hole that feeds on stupid people.
3-Based on what you posted thus far in this thread, if nature truly abhors a vacuum, you better find yourself a boat anchor and hold on real tight.
Ggad @ 6:12,
“What the hell does he “speaks truth to power” mean anyway?”
Oh, frank was just saying that awood shouts at passing traffic from a bridge underpass.
Mike Scott@40. . .if you could read and comprehend you would have percieved that I stated MLK endorsed conservative principals. I did not
label MLK and you affirm @40 that he did endorse conservative principles.
If I need to make stuff up. . .glad I have your post as an example.
Dan@39. . .Four strikes weighs in. . .with no answers; only insults. The Liberal way. . .more lies and insults are the pillars of any argument you
raise. Lypocrisy.
Steve C@42 and 43. . .another shining example of a comprehension problem. He blogs but makes no point nor refutes any. Weak stuff.
He was “hoist with his own petard” and still has no clue. This blog is too much like torture thanks to the right wing chorus. There’s some truth for you.
Ohhhh. . . .Sandi@47. . .don’t worry about truth. . .you would not recognize it
if you saw it. Seems as if the liberals are the one’s doing nothing but insults and namecalling in this thread. In fact, our wonderful blog host set the whole
thing up to insult and demean Awood. Your children are misbehaving.
Kristen | March 12, 2013 at 2:58 pm
Leon, between you, Awood, and HayFrank we have to pick our battles. If we tried to counter every single bit of nonsense on the screen we’d burn out quickly.
XXX I reckon so Kristen. . .perhaps you should just run away!
“In fact, our wonderful blog host set the whole thing up to insult and demean Awood.”
–Leon
Leon, how in the world could I insult or demean Awood? All I did was assemble a brief retrospective of Awood’s wisdom.
You should quit swallowing those cynicism pills, pal.
Leon @7:33,
Never mind; it was a bit over your head, I guess.
Anyhoo, like everyone has already said, its kind of pointless to try to reason with you. The mere fact you’d defend awood and frank merely illustrates that you value dogma over sanity.
The company you keep says all about you I need to know. Don’t worry about Kristen; I got dibs on you.
Leon has frequently stated that MLK endorsed conservative “principals”. I’d like to know who they were and what office they were seeking. Somehow, I think such endorsements would have been against MLK’s principles.
Wayne G @ 12:34,
Leon also believes the world is flat, Pro wrestling is real and that Mitt actually had a chance of winning the presidential election.
Leon;
“. .if you could read and comprehend you would have percieved(perceived) that I stated MLK endorsed conservative principals(principles)”
Leon…if you would read more about the man’s life than that which you use as a source, you would know how ridiculous it is to paint the man as a current day conservative.
#31 “Says who ? ? ?” Sez anyone with a lick of common sense, that’s who.
Oh, and ending your sentences with multiple punctuation marks won’t help your credibility either, boy.
