R.I.P Richie Havens, who died this week. From his famous Woodstock performance.

I saw Richie Havens perform a couple of times in my younger days. He had such huge hands he could do things with a guitar most people couldn’t do. It was always a dynamic, enjoyable performance.
We did sound for him down in Key West and he gave it all as he always did, a gentle soul.
I keep seeing Havens pop up in online conversation. But Christy Amphlett died at the same time and not much about her. Might I recommend tomorrow’s open thread? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv-34w8kGPM
Christy Amphlett, another victim of Multiple Sclerosis, and Cancer.
George Jones, probably THE best pure country singer of all time.
And here’s George Jones. Tear jerking, beer drinking, 3A.M. classic country music at its best. See ya George.
Thanks Wayne, he was one of a kind!
