Feast your eyes on Megan, my daughter Erin’s cat. You all probably know how much I love pets (not). But Erin brought her home after her graduation.
So now, aside from Lucky (the family cat) and Pepper (Zach’s cat) this one makes three.
She disappeared while we were in Ohio last week and was gone for a week. Erin was distraught. Then on Wednesday, we got a call from a pet-loving woman in South Roanoke, who already has a bunch of cats, a dog, and who volunteers at Angels of Assisi.
Megan had turned up near a city of Roanoke warehouse in the Hurt Park area, which is a good ways from our house in Grandin Court. The woman’s son works there, and he brought Megan home with him.
Megan was adopted from an animal shelter in Harrisonburg which implanted her with microchip that listed Erin and her cell phone number as a contact.
The lady in South Roanoke took her to a vet, which scanned Megan and found the chip and got that info. The woman called Erin (who was out of town) and Zach and I picked her up Wednesday night.
Thank you, pet-loving lady. Happy ending! (Except for me).
