Note from Dan: Sandi Saunders is a familiar name on this blog. The diehard liberal is pained by our celebrity culture and she’s trying to do something about that.

After the eruption over a Miley Cyrus’s Video Music Awards performance, I simply said “enough!”
I was in my car and happened to catch the ceremony from the White House awarding the Medal of Honor to Ty Carter. It was so moving, and while struck by his bravery and sense of duty, I was also struck by the knowledge that HE is the kind of person we should all be talking, posting and tweeting about, not the Mileys, Parises, Rhiannas, Kanyes and Kardashians in this country!
So, I started a Facebook Group called Honor these names, not celebrities! I’m encouraging people to join it and help us identify the heroes, and people we should be holding up and giving acclaim to for the right reasons.
It’s an open group. It’s dedicated to honoring the real heroes and people who deserve fame, acclaim and celebrity.
Please join and put up heroes you know or find.
These are some of the first people put up:
Then I added this injured veteran supermodel: Alex Minsky
Come and add more heroes.
No, I will not “be the judge” of who is a hero. (But I will eject trolls!)
