Your daily Letter to the Editor — Oct. 16, 2013
Note from Dan: This was sent in as a letter to the editor but someone else decided not to publish it. Here is the offending paragraph: “Third, the county might forever lose its opportunity to link the Roanoke River Greenway in Salem to Green Hill Park. Church, egged on by 15 or 16 recalcitrant landowners along West Riverside Drive, has been a primary impediment to that.”
This is in reference to Casey’s column in Sunday’s paper and his diarrhea of the mouth as he attempts to add his professionalism to matters he knows little about and is obviously being fed information by a current or ex-employee of Roanoke County.
He specifically places all property owners between Green Hill Park and Mill Lane as being “Stubbornly disobedient and Resistant to Authority.” From this statement one would thing that a bunch of low life’s live here, pay no taxes, resist authority and are the lowest form of humanity that resides in Roanoke County.
Don’t know how he arrived at his conclusion, especially since he has never spoke to, seen any of us, or had any contact. I guess one of the perks of being a columnist for the paper gives him the right to downgrade anyone and anything that he feels may foster his super ego.
We feel like we have been slandered and are very upset that we were allowed to be tagged in this manner. Hopefully everyone that knows us personally will not agree with all the negative remarks he made about us.
