Note from Dan: The following is a news release issued Wednesday night by the campaign of E.W. Jackson, the GOP nominee for Lieutenant Governor.
CHESAPEAKE, VA – E.W. Jackson, Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor in Virginia, won tonight’s debate at Old Dominion University hosted by the Virginia Bar Association and the Young Laywers Division. Jackson continued to campaign on a positive vision to Inspire and Unite Virginia by focusing on expanding educational and economic opportunities for people across the Commonwealth:
“It was an honor to once again have an opportunity to speak with Virginians about how we can make government less intrusive to our lives and create greater economic and educational opportunities for people from all walks of life. Our positive campaign driven by the issues that matter most to families and businesses is resonating across the Commonwealth.
“Our movement to empower individuals is in stark contrast to my opponent’s focus on divisive social issues, growing the size and scope of government, and personal attacks that don’t help educate a single child or create a single job. The gridlock we face in Washington is the result of exactly this kind of politics and it is especially important now as people in the Commonwealth and across this nation face the hardship of a government shutdown. Above everything, Virginians believe that we cannot have gridlock politics as usual.
“As Lieutenant Governor, I will strive to change politics as usual and focus on helping bring people together on the issues that are key to the future of our Commonwealth.”
