I already posted a comment on the appropriate page, but just a heads up: I will not be participating in this blog once the Facebook-link change occurs.
An editor who does not understand the need to remain anonymous when discussing politics is a real head-scratcher to me… Not everyone has the luxury of an employer and other authority figures who universally share their political views, and retaliation is a real concern for some.
I take this to mean that there will never be another “un-named source” in any future RT article?
Mark, I can understand your concern but not the jab at the end. In fact, there are very, very, very few “unnamed sources” quoted in the RT. Can you point to any this week? This month? Last month? This year?
I am applauding the change and the stance. I think that even if it is “wrong”, it was a self-inflicted wound by those who chose to use the security of anonymity to slam and belittle and it stifled instead of fueled debate. It turned into a ‘free for all’ instead of a discussion, time and time again.
A government-sponsored bill approved by 16-13 votes in the Senate provides for regulation of the cultivation, distribution and consumption of marijuana and is aimed at wresting the business from criminals in the small South American nation.
Sandi, I’m against it too. I’ve done a better job of keeping my temper in check the longer I’ve been here. It’s easy to take potshots at other people from the cover of anonymity, and I admit I’ve indulged in it too. But I don’t want anyone from here to follow me home, whether that’s to my social media outlets or my real-world doorstep.
I must have missed the formal announcement in the RT. Can anyone point me to it? Thanks
Some on Dan’s blog actively do follow others around, and in fact are almost encouraged to do so by none other than good ol’ Dan.
That’s what libs do.
I’ll miss you pirengle.
Dan: Point taken; I guess in a small local paper it’s not as much of an issue. And I do realize that some people abuse anonymity, which adds to your moderation woes. But I think that the trend toward requiring real names has the real potential to undermine the free discourse that is so important in a democratic society.
On-line discussions are not the same as conversations at the local tavern, in that they can be dredged up years later and in an entirely different context from that for which they were intended. “Show me six lines written by the most honest man in the world, and I will find enough therein to hang him” –Cardinal Richelieu (disputed). And that was said long before modern data-mining and cross-referencing techniques became available.
Like I said before, it’s not that I have a problem using my real name, it’s that I have a problem with using Facebook.
Yes what is the Facebook related change? Must one have a Facebook account to play? If so I’m disqualified.
I have posted here under my real name since I started in October 2008 and no one has “followed” me anywhere. Several of those hiding in anonymity have threatened this or that, reposted my comments on their blogs or other forums, etc. and such behavior is doubtless the reason for the change. The behavior of some anonymous cretins has spoiled the party for all. I am sorry for that.
I agree it is unfortunate to lose those good posters who need or want anonymity; who use it judiciously and not as a weapon, those who do not want a FB identity or just object to the principle. The blog moderators, the editors, the reporters and the people whose threads and columns we react to do not have the luxury of anonymity and out of respect for those I converse with, I have never hidden my identity.
The changes will be interesting and if they give Dan some relief from this relentless grind, I will still be happy to have them.
Who’s followed anyone around heyfrank?
pirengle, please email me (get the addy from Dan). I can set you up so you can still comment here and you’ll never have to worry about anyone following you home or finding out where you live. This is easier than you think.
You’re one of my favorite posters here and this blog will be missing something without you.
You don’t need to call anonymous bloggers like steve c and mitzi’s aunt, “cretins”, do you, just because they have googled my personal background?
I mean, they were just doing what libs do, right?
Pirengle, I hope you will stay as well. I haven’t been on here very long, but I enjoy reading your comments.
Hey folks, I had intended to post the below commentary and link on today’s open thread, but I initially posted it on Wednesday’s open thread by mistake.
I hope you all enjoy and appreciate the irony of what Media Matters has become…a charicature of a liberal persona!
Hey folks, now, THIS is funny!
George Soros has directed his self-funded Media Matters (gee, isn’t THAT what the Koch brothers do, as they get you libs all worked up into a twit on a regular basis?)
Except in this case, good ol’ rich-man george soros is taking his money and going back to his rich man’s hole. And, the funny part is, he’s skeedaddling out of his guerrilla campaign against FOX News because they, FOX NEWS, are literally knocking the figurative snot out of soro’s media matters!
Now, here’s the REAL funny part…media matters is saying that they’ve “accomplished their goal” with FOX NEWS!
I wonder what THAT was, exactly? Was it to drive up FOX NEWS’ ratings so high that they litterally swamp all of their competition?
Must have been. mm isn’t even a gnat in the neighborhood periphery of FOX NEWs.
Na na naa na, na na naa na, hey hey, Gooood bye!
If the new Facebook change leads a pretty girl to my Facebook account/my house, I’m all for it. If not, everyone call me “Bob” while I’m on here
I think it’s an insane move from a business/advertising perspective. As print media continues to dwindle, I would thing the RT would do everything in its power to increase the digital/blog contributors. I see no way this change will add to the blog hits, and I imagine it will significantly reduce them.
Personally, I like anonymity when discussing personal opinions such as religion and politics. I want to share these beliefs, or not, with people I know well, not in an open forum without anonymity. I do hope that even if many of you have not agreed with my positions, I have tried to be civil to bloggers with opposing views, and I have been successful with that for the most part. Dan, I have enjoyed your blog….Adios.
“Some on Dan’s blog actively do follow others around, and in fact are almost encouraged to do so by none other than good ol’ Dan.”
Give us some examples, heyfrank. We’ll be waiting.
Dan, you’re right that local stories never or almost never use unnamed sources, but national stories out of D.C. and elsewhere certainly do.
Great LTE today from Gene Gardner.Looks like he will be saving plenty with the ACA:
I can smell you and mitzi out there, ’cause it smells like skunk and worms.
You know it. I know it.
And, I think it’s funny. Pathetic, but funny.
Here’s Mitzi at post #194 on last Thursday’s open thread:
Mitzi’s aunt | December 8, 2013 at 9:40 pm
Gdad #180, I used what I gleaned from Steve C #170, went back to summer 2012, read a few days’ worth of blogs, and in about 15 minutes was able to find out all kinds of info about Frank (his house was built in 1966,
just as an example of the mundane info you can find on “the google.”)
What a team you two are…a “skunk and worms” tag team.
It’s been fun! I’ll still give the site web hits, but unfortunately fall to the need to remain anonymous.
Please see my post, above. I think you’re just the water-boy, but you really want to move up and actually be on the team. Right now, I think it’s best that you just be the best little white yappy dog that you can be. Your time to move up will come, I’m sure.
This global warming thingy is just a hoot!
Hey 11…I meant 13. My bad.
Since this is a Freaky Friday Open Thread I thought I would post the link below. I’m sure some of you have probably had an anthill in your yard from time to time. Watch the video linked below and see how you can make an artistic creation the next time you have one in your yard.
I typed a lot of this earlier, then I got kidnapped for lunch. So reposting all of this. (As I discovered, my smartphone doesn’t save the comment window.)
My comment on the Times Square post by Joe Stinnett is still awaiting moderation. I posted the two big reasons I’m anonymous there, but I should really add a third:
–My Facebook is tied to my workplace. While my FB privacy permissions are as tight as I can make them, not everyone changes their settings as obsessively as I do. My coworkers really don’t need to know my opinions on gay marriage, for example, because I work with known homophobes.
–I don’t want someone to get angry with me over a blog post, find out my “real” information, and bring harm to me and my loved ones. We’re never truly anonymous online, but I don’t want to make it easy for people. (When I lived in Florida, some random stranger followed me home from work just to yell at me about my car bumper stickers.)
–I’ve gotten rape threats over my Steam online gaming profile and death threats on the Facebook account attached to that gaming profile. Being a feminist on the Internet–and a gamer to boot–makes you a target for all kinds of rotten people who want to make you suffer. Anita Sarkeesian is a famous example, but she’s not the only one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anita_Sarkeesian
I could use my “fake” FB profile to post here, but I’d lose it if someone reported it. One of my resolutions for 2014 is to find a job doing something I like with open-minded people who won’t fire me for having a disagreeable opinion on the Internet. So…wish me luck?
(And thanks for your comments–I appreciate them.)
Frank is actively pursuing hi membership in the eye dee ten tee club today
pirengle, hate to see you go but I certainly understand your reasons. It sure is ashamed that the actions of a few trolls caused this
Gobal warming has hit Egypt
and speaking of climate issues…this was a very interesting read:
Total nonsense heyfrank; you know it, and I know it.
The simple fact of the matter is that your boy DMatt threatened me and I took reasonable precautions. Anytime I wanted I could have marched down to DMatt’s place of employment with a printed copy of DMatt’s threat and I could have had his head on a silver plate. If you’d kept Jr on a short leash he never would have put his and your professional reputations in jeopardy. Stop whining like a child and start taking responsibility for your boy’s violent behavior.
I have never threatened you, and I’ve not yet, despite your repeated posts to the contrary, seen anyone else actually threaten you.
I have, on the otherhand, seen you post comments which offer such threatening actions as, “slapping” folks, or their body parts, around.
I have …never… posted on Dan’s blog ANYTHING about having any other family members other than a liberal older sister, and my adorable spouse, who can do more than just about anything.
Anything else is …complete… conjecture by you.
Need I say more, you idiot?
Thats an incredible piece of art! With the northward advance of fire ants, I might need to begin keeping my aluminum cans, and melt them down for use in to “creating some art” when those little guys hit Roanoke!
I don’t know if those ants were fire ants or not, but the above-ground cone looks like one of theirs’. Back in the mid-1990,s I was scoping out a piece of property in Florida, and didn’t think about fire ants…won’t make THAT mistake again.
Also, in my early childhood, I remember my grandmother pouring boiling water on the “hills” around which ants were swarming…I learned then that ants were’t just fascinating bugs!
“Need I say more, you idiot?”
I guess we’re going out on a high note.
Well, he IS an idiot! You know it, and I know it, and so does everyone else!
Holy cow, here’s another one. “Golbal-warming is SUCH a hoax!
oops, “Golbal” is more appropriately spelled, “Global”. My bad.
Good luck on the job search, pirengle!
good luck, pirengle.
I’m with you, there’s crazies out there, and none of this stuff needs to get into your work-place.
Just curious, why did you choose “pirengle” as your name on Dan’s blog?
hey folks, at THIS stage of his presidency, obama is just throwing things up on the wall, hoping that something will stick, to take the folks attention AWAY from his most liberal of liberal hallmark accomplishments, that being OMAMACARE.
Sheesh, NOW whats the pres to do, ’cause the iranians have had the nerve to bail on him and lurch?
here’s the link to the iranians bailing on obama and lurch…
Yes, there are “crazies out there” and they have been posting on Roanoke.com anonymously for years.
Sandi @ 42: Yes, there are “crazies” out there, but they are not necessarily crazy because they disagree with you point of view. The vibe you give off on this board is exactly that….if you don’t agree with me, you are crazy. The fact that you choose to use your full, real name, makes no difference in terms of the discussions on this board. The fact that I post my true opinions with only my first name doesn’t make my posts any more sane or insane than yours. I’m not sure what the RT’s thought process is, but I feel sure that the end result will lessen revenue.
Blogs about weather, sports and food are completely different animals than politics and sometimes, religion. Sandi, you seem so humerously angry on a regular basis. I hope you find joy and peace in your life as you move forward. I have enjoyed some of our back and forth.
And now for something completely different:
Yes, Sandi, and this this is a simple question, but, would your comment @ post #44 refer to:
Contra, gdad, steve c, warren, kristen, laura, shirley, debbie, pirengle, etc.?
The biggest difference between your posts and Sandi’s (aside from that fact that she uses her name and you don’t) is that her opinions are much more informed than yours are. Is she always right? No, none of us are. But on the facts, she’s right a lot more than you.
#25 Uh, heyfrankie, if googling somebody’s name is “actively following” them, then I’m guessing you’re guilty.
What a doltish troll.
But at least I know by your blustering and blubbering that I got you again.
Aw, look, Steve C, you got heyfrank all bunched up talking the truth about his boy matt.
Dear Frank, I haven’t driven by your house, I haven’t friended your wife on Facebook or shared her FB pictures, I didn’t divulge your name or any other identifying info, I didn’t make any threats. What I discovered was, in real life, you are probably a pretty likable guy, much less caustic than here. I’m sure you’d be surprised to find my husband and I probably have a lot in common with you and your wife. My point was, we are never as anonymous as we think we are; in the internet age, all of our lives are open books, so it might behoove us all to think about what we post. Love, Worms
P.S. Sorry, Dan , I know the rule about one anonymous name per person, will drop the “worms” alias in the future.
Hey Frank, I admit to being crazy. You have a problem with that?
Thank you for the crow video, Contra. I loved it!
Debbie, LOL (Sorry, don’t know how to insert that laughing smiley face).
I admit I’m slightly nutty as well.
Frank is certifiable and doesn’t know it. He actually thinks he’s the sanest one on here, ’cause he gets his news from the “straight news sources” — Fox, Breitbart, National Review, etc.
Heyfrank, your boy DMatt posted he wanted to meet me downtown so he could lay a beating on me. Do you want me to find the link and post it to refresh your feeble memory? I think it would also be interesting for everyone to scroll down and find all your posts rebuking your boy DMatt for threatening people with violence (That would be zero, none, zip, nada, goose egg, zilch). Heyfrank, you didn’t even apologize on DMatts behalf. Heck, I think you were kinda’ proud of the little scamp.
At least we admit it, Shirley. Gotta love Breitbart, death didn’t end the lies.
Loved the crow video. We could learn something from the crow on having fun. Thanks for posting.
Consider this a badge of honor, Mr. Boehner.
“Conservative radio host Glenn Beck went off on Republican leadership after the House passed a budget compromise Thursday, calling House Speaker John Boehner “worthless” and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell a “liar.”
“I think John Boehner is one of the prime examples of worthless, worthless Republicans,” Beck said Thursday on Mark Levin’s radio show. “All these people saying, ‘Hey, the Republicans aren’t as bad,’ no. I think they actually might be worse, because they claim to be something that they’re not.”

I don’t know what’s more frightening, Rick Santorum’s comments, or that people will actually believe what he said.
Speaking at a Young Americans for Freedom event on Friday, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) offered an unusual assessment of what happens when “the government is going to be the principal provider of health care for the country.” “It’s actually a pretty clever system,” the former presidential candidate explained, “Take care of the people who can vote and people who can’t vote, get rid of them as quickly as possible by not giving them care so they can’t vote against you.”
Santorum’s suggestion that elected officials will provide health care to their own voters while getting “rid of” the opposing party’s voters followed a more banal warning that conservatives must fight programs that expand health care because they tend to be popular: “When Thatcher ran for prime minister she said — remember this, this is the Iron Lady — she said, ‘The British national health care system is safe in my hands.’ She wasn’t going to take on health care, because she knew once you have people getting free health care from the government, you can’t take it away from them.”
Santorum is a sick, sick man.
I remember seeing that crow video a few years ago. It’s always good for a smile. Contra, maybe you could forward it to Santorum. He could use a little cheering up, it seems.
“conservatives must fight programs that expand health care because they tend to be popular: “ – Well imagine that. People enjoy not dying.
I purposely did not define the “crazies” because I think that is often arguable. Not always though.
I try so hard to communicate clearly, decisively and with actual facts, and then someone claims that my “vibe” is that I think “if you don’t agree with me, you are crazy“, which is just not true.
Nothing I have ever posted has been about needing or wanting people to “agree with me”. As Dan said, I am not always “right” (whatever that even is). I would add that pointing out where someone else is wrong does not mean therefore I am right. I don’t even THINK like that. I am often conflicted on an issue or policy and just because I do not let the right wing slant and lies stand does not mean I am supporting or defending anything more than honesty and facts. That seems to be a concept some of you struggle with.
I have time and time again admitted to being a hypocrite. I have freely admitted I am partisan and that I despise right wingers, consider the so called “TEA Party” to be a danger to our nation and while I never suffer fools for long, it simply and literally cannot be said that I am beating up on or raving against people who do not offer insult or lies first or who have not posted whatever I offer in the same measure. It is never just because they do not agree with me.
As I have also said before, I HATE bullies and people who choose to insult, batter, demean or lie about something or someone and it sets me off and I give them their own medicine.
I am not interested in what you think of me using my name for what I put out there. I do that because I don’t operate any other way. If you think something you will say might set off a “crazy”, maybe you should not say it? Just a thought.
Anyone who cannot contribute to a conversation without insult is not likely to get anything less back. And anyone (yes I am talking to you right wingers) who thinks their post are not insults and lies yet gets guff right back, might ought to rethink what they are posting. Just another thought.
There are plenty of people on here and in life that I discuss all manner of things with and never even think of insulting. They respect me and I return that favor. Try it.
Here we go, right from the horse’s mouth!
“Anyone who cannot contribute to a conversation without insult is not likely to get anything less back.”
Spoken like a true pro.
Now, if she’d only practice what she preaches.
Oops, excuse me. Now, if she’d only practice what she screechs.
Heyfrank will leave in exactly the same manner he arrived here a year and a half ago; like a sniveling petulant child and blaming everyone but himself for his unpoularity. Good riddance.
Hey steve c,
You’ve been braying about this over and over for almost a year, and your buddy Dan just lets it go on and on. I wonder just why that is? Sooo, I guess you guys really are a tag team, eh?
While I beleive Dan to be particularly biased and liberal with approving your disgusting posts, I think we all would have to “suspend disbelief” to think that Dan would have knowingly approved a post from one of his other bloggers (directed to his “tag-team” buddy, no less) which actually and credibly threatened you to, ” meet me downtown so he could lay a beating on me”. Yeah, right.
No matter, please go ahead and re-post the “threat” which you have said, repeatedly for everyone’s benefit, was once made to you…heck, I’ll even post your own words, again, below, so you can readily remember your own made-up crap.
Steve C | December 14, 2013 at 8:42 am Heyfrank, your boy DMatt posted
…”he wanted to meet me downtown so he could lay a beating on me”…
Please provide the post made by …anyone…, which so firmly etched those words into your bile-filled head.
It’s time to expose yourself, steve c. Go for it.
Frank, I do exactly as I preach.
We spent a cold but fun few days in Williamsburg last week. Lots of fun and educational things to do. If you go, visit the exhibit “Heart Strings” at the DeWitt Wallace museum. It’s touching…but heartbreaking too.
Is that the Music of the Holocaust exhibit, Old blue?
He wasn’t in the same class as Peter O’Toole, but RIP Tom Laughlin aka “Billy Jack”.
Use English, please. Stop mumbling and rambling. You sound like you just got back from a Christmas party at Spikes or something. Are you asking me to find where your boy DMatt threatened me?
“My Favorite Year,” starring Peter O’Toole, was one of my favorite comedies ever. Highly recommended!
Debbie, wow, what a trip in the way back machine to Billy Jack! Do you recall the theme song, “One Tin Soldier?” Loved that song. Any idea who recorded “One Tin Soldier?”
That was a great movie.
I LOVED the Billy Jack movies! RIP Tom Laughlin. . .
Yes I do, Jason Perdue. I had forgotten it until a friend posted it on Facebook.
I loved the song and the Billy Jack movies.
I’ve been mentally transported back in time twice today. First when I went to the candy store on Campbell Ave for stocking stuffers and saw packs of Fizzies. I was taken back to my early childhood when my older brother and cousin, and I loved putting the tablets in water to make our own root beer. When I found out that “Billy Jack” died and I was transported back to my teen years. Good memories.
They still make Fizzies?
It’s called heart strings, about the Foundling Hospital in London circa 1740s or so. Mothers left their babies at the hospital when they could not feed or care for them. The “strings” refers to the pieces of cloth that were put in hospital records to identify the babies if the mothers came back for them. They have some of the actual records. It’s heartbreaking to read them. I could not stay long.
Sorry, Debbie and everyone. It’s called “Threads of Feeling”. I was confused about the name, although it certainly tugged at my heart strings.
Yes they do, Art. I was surprised to find them. Surprised to find that candy cigarettes are still made too.
I’m sure it would tug at mine too, Old blue. How sad for the mothers and babies. Amazing that they still have the records.
steve c at #71,
Well, I just got home from a 45 person family get-together over in Mt. Pleasant, had good food, great deserts, great company, and no booze, steve c. Unlike alcoholics, I don’t plan my recreation around booze.
You couldn’t possibly have an undergraduate degree in English (maybe it was mail-order, eh?), because that requires you to have at least …some… reading comprehension capabilities. Clearly you have none, given that in at least two posts on this thread alone, you have leveled serious and false charges against someone who has posted …nothing… on Dan’s blog for well over a year…yet, your bile-filled head can’t comprehend that simple fact, nor can it comprehend that YOU asked ME, “Do you want me to find the link and post it to refresh your feeble memory?”….see your post #55, below:
Steve C | December 14, 2013 at 8:42 am
Heyfrank, your boy DMatt posted he wanted to meet me downtown so he could lay a beating on me. …..Do you want me to find the link and post it to refresh your feeble memory?…..
My response to you is not ambiguous to anyone but you, steve c.
Here’s what I said above in #66:
“Please provide the post made by …anyone…, which so firmly etched those words into your bile-filled head.”
“It’s time to expose yourself, steve c. Go for it.”
Now, steve c, I’ll be even more clear. Yes.
I know your type to be a liar…blowhards and bullies like you, always are.
YOU, sir, are a cheap and simple liar, and I am …requesting… that you back up your repeated accusatory statement. If you fail to produce what you said, then YOU will have exposed yourself to the entire blog to be exactly what you have always portrayed yourself to be, which is a blowhard, bully, LIAR. Congratulations, steve c, you hit the trifecta.
Now, is that clear enough for you to comprehend?
If not, I’ll answer your question again. Yes.
Debbie thanks for the song!
You are welcome, Jason!
Only heyfrank would neckpuke 10 whole paragraphs when a simple one syllable word would do.
Ahhh, there it is.
steve c, your story needs to be told.
It’s quite interesting, btw, how you’ve been “allowed” to spew your hateful lies, for so long, on your buddie’s blog.
Now, it’s time for you to put up, or shut up.
I loved the “Billy Jack” movies too, I have them all in fact. I did not hear he had passed. He and his wife were a great team. Coven did the cover of “One Tin Soldier” for the movie. I loved it too!
Interesting story on the singer Jinx Dawson you hear on the soundtrack!
That was interesting, Sandi.
The Steve C – Frank feud is over, guys. Got that? ‘Tis the season for peace and goodwill toward your fellow man.
AMEN 4 Dan! Good call and guys, let’s just ignore what we cannot abide and hope that soon it will be gone for good.
Dan calls feud over when Steve C can’t validate his post… too funny…
I have read months of Dan supporters blasting on their adversaries in the same type of argument, and no “feud over” call.
Looks like just when Frank was getting ready for a knockout, the referee steps in and calls the match over… something to be said for home field advantage…
Sorry Frank, Dan has a conveniently new found faith for peace and goodwill… just when things were getting interesting… how charitable…
Hey Perry D,
You got it, although the jig is up with that other guy…although none of this is new to Dan’s posse.
Birds of a feather…
“I have read months of Dan supporters blasting on their adversaries in the same type of argument, and no “feud over” call.”
Wrong, Perry D. Dan has called a halt to similar feuds by me with three people that I remember.
Oh it’s out there, Frank. I remember reading it and I don’t lie, Frank. I do not have the time to read through the posts to find it, but it’s there. Since you will no longer be commenting come Thursday, you have plenty of time to go through the archives. Try April of 2013. That’s when Jack Brown’s burgers opened and I remember Steve inviting Matt to meet him there.
Jack Brown’s opened April 16th, Frank. That’ll help narrow down your search.
Ate lunch at Jack Browns today, as a matter of fact, Debbie.
For the record, your post at #95 makes no sense.
For the record, Frank. Steve C is telling the truth when he says that Matt threatened him. It’s out there, but I have neither the time nor the inclination to look for it.
Frank, do you want to talk about when he made comments about me being a dog and needing to be put down?
Sandi, that was not a nice way to speak to a lady. I would be honored to defend you, but somehow I think you are fully capable of defending yourself.
Debbie, How cute of you to come running to steve’s rescue, as if…
If you are correct, I wonder why he shut up instead of putting up? Hmmm, it looks like you and steve have a budding relationship!
Your information is not accurate Debbie. According to my records, no one by the handle or name of Matt posted on Dan’s blog in Apri, May, or any other month in 2013. Deal with it.
Sandi, you often behave like an attack dog. And, sometimes vets do have to put down attack dogs. That wasn’t personal, Sandi. It dealt specifically with the “you” that is the attack dog.
well, well, well, what have we here?
Debbie defending steve…and Michael Howdshell wanting to defend Sandi!
No worries Michael, I was, but Frank should not be defending Matt’s behavior toward anyone.
Ok, I’ll clear the air from my side. I think your bark is worse than your bite.
He shut up about it because Dan said for you both to shut up about it. Truth is truth, Frank. I also remember the vile comments that Sandi is referring to.
One last thing, Frank. Yes, Steve goes too far sometimes with you, but it’s because you allow him to by reacting. If you’d have ignored him, this silliness would have ended a long time ago.
Frank, if you wanted to “clear the air” you would have been honest.
“One last thing, Frank. Yes, Steve goes too far sometimes with you, but it’s because you allow him to by reacting. If you’d have ignored him, this silliness would have ended a long time ago.”
Frank sometimes goes too far, too. Had to trash a few of his posts this week, in which he either tried to keep the feud going, or that were just plain bizarre.
Please follow the history on this thread, Debbie. If he actually had the facts on his side, Debbie, those alleged posts would have been produced long before Dan shut him down.
His atrocious behavior is on him, and for you to suggest otherwise is quite bizarre, but not unexpected.
Just because a fisherman drops a baited hook in the water, doesn’t mean the fish has to take the bait, Frank.
Or if you’re into dancing, it takes two to tango.
Bye, Frank. Take care and enjoy Christmas with your family.
I have no doubt, Dan.
As usual Dan, you present only one side to the story, and Debbie laps it up.
Frank, I know you think that you are an innocent victim and that everything you post is brilliant. You’re not and your posts aren’t.
I’ve got work to do.
Sure Frank, Steve C’s behavior is on him, everyone’s “atrocious behavior” is on them, yours is, Matt’s is, mine is. If you think for a moment you escape for egging it on, and keeping it going, or that Matt didn’t, then it is another one of your fantasies.

Metro Columnist Dan Casey knows a little bit about a lot of things but not a heck of a lot about most things. That doesn't keep him from writing about them, however. So keep him honest!
He welcomes your rants, raves and considered opinions, so long as the language is civil (i.e. no four-letter words). He'll read all your posts and may or may not respond.
