About Matt

Matt Chittum

Data Delivery Editor Matt Chittum blogs about the latest data he’s collected for the Datasphere, roanoke.com’s home for search-it-yourself databases.

Matt is a 14-year veteran reporter who started out at The Roanoke Times in 1993 as an editorial assistant typing livestock reports and taking late notice obituaries.

The semi-reconstructed punk rocker is a father of two who runs marathons, plays guitar no better than he did in 1985 and cuts his own hair.

Despite his job title, he denies being a geek, a nerd or a bore, though he believes he might be able to pull off that whole pocket-protector look.
