Here is a photo of my blueberry bushes, looking gorgeous with their red fall color. Until I moved to Virginia to a home that already had established blueberry bushes, I didn’t even know that blueberry bushes turned red in the fall. I’ve seen the flowers, picked the berries, but apparently, I’d never seen them in the fall.
Forget about burning bush! I’d much rather have a bush I actually enjoy all three seasons! Spring flowers, summer berries and fall color. What more can you ask from a shrub?
The cold weather this week was a wakeup call to get my garden ready for winter, so this morning’s article was on those chores that are good to do in fall: how to properly compost what’s now dead in the garden; doing soil tests; mulching; etc.
