I still had quite a few flowers going strong in my vegetable garden until recently, which made the garden look pretty good. To my surprise, they made it through the Frankenstorm cold weather, but, alas, they all got zapped and died this past week. All except these snapdragons, for some reason.
So, a few last peas and beets to harvest and that’s pretty much it for my vegetable garden, this year. The lettuce was all harvested already, and the only thing left is to dig up Jerusalem artichokes as I want them.
The last couple of days have been gorgeous for cleaning up the garden, so I’ve been taking advantage. Now, time to start thinking about next year’s garden.
Don’t know if any of you have seen it, but the December issue of Organic Gardening has a feature on Floyd. Always nice to see national attention paid to someplace local!
