Hahn Horticulture Garden at Virginia Tech has one of their Lunchtime Learning garden walks and talks today. Johanna Cricenti, the Kentland Farm Technician that helped start the Dining Services Farm and Field Program, and now a Horticulture graduate student, will be speaking on “Behind the Scenes: VT Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farms.
The talk runs noon to 1:00 p.m. and is free. No registration is required; just meet at the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion. The Pavilion has parking passes for visitors. Park in designated F/S spaces.
Kentland Farms’ mission is to promote student involvement with, awareness of, and connection to sustainably managed local food produced and served by Dining Services and their partner, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The Dining Services Garden at Kentland Farm began in 2009 as a small herb plot. It has now expanded to just over two acres and is managed and staffed by Dining Services.
