Upcoming Gardening Workshops

Here are a couple of upcoming gardening classes you might be interested in.

Burnt Creative Boutique and Market on N. Main St. in Blacksburg is offering a workshop on making terrariums. All materials will be provided, including the glass terrarium, rocks, soil, and seeds/plants.

The workshop will be offered at four different times on Saturday, February 16 and Monday, February 18, and costs $45. This could make a beautiful and unique Valentine’s Day gift for your garden-loving special someone!  To register, call them at 540-552-2126, or email them at info@burntcreative.com.  You can see more about this workshop on their Facebook page .

For those of you with thoughts turning outdoors, Southern States is hosting a Home Orchard Care program on February 19th at their store on Cloverdale Rd in Troutville, starting at 7:00 pm.  This is a free presentation by the Virginia Cooperative Extension. The presentation covers the basics of fruit tree care, including organic and conventional spraying, as well as a little pruning.  They are also hoping to offer a Small Fruit program the following week, or the week after, but the dates are not firm yet.  This program is free, but you’re asked to pre-register with Southern States at (540) 992-1001.
