Still Searching for Spring

Temperatures in the fifties and sixties are forecasted for the end of the week, and I can’t wait. I believe in the power of positive thinking, so I am thinking positively that this is absolutely our LAST SNOW OF THE YEAR!
I want sunshine. I want warmth. I want to see some green stuff growing and some flowers blooming.
It’s time to do some serious garden planning, which results in some serious garden dreaming. What will I grow this year? The possibilities may be endless, but, alas, the time, space and money are not.
No matter. Half the fun is in the planning/dreaming, so I’ll be basking in seed catalogs for part of the day today. I might make a trip to a garden center where I can actually touch the seed packets. Compare the heirloom tomatoes. Which pumpkin would my son enjoy most? How many sunflower varieties will I break down and buy this year? Can I really justify 12 kinds of peppers this year? (No, I cannot.)
Anyone have anything on your I Absolutely Will Grow This list, your I’m Seriously Thinking About This list, or your How Can I Justify Growing This list that you’d like to share?

Like you Ms. Hager, I pour over every seed catalog I get , and they are numerous. Time and time again. However, I seldom order anything since I don’t have the space to plant it. I’m limited to pot containers and small fenced areas to keep the varmits out. That still don’t stop me from wish booking tho.
Wishbooking is a fine habit, WD, as long as you have self control . I always make my lists and then force myself to cut down to a certain amount before ordering, not that that sobers me up totally. Last year I splurged on a three shelf grow light system which makes it really tempting to overplant. New for this year: lemongrass (which is growing as easily as lawn grasses), Perennial splurges: Lady’s Mantle and a Hen and Chicks mix…they’re growing but so tiny. I also planning to try peanuts in a raised bed.
My purple crocuses are up and I’m so thrilled to see them!
Lindsey, mine are too, and it makes we wonder why the purple ones are always the first to poke their heads through the snow and cold. I’m sure it’s all about the variety/species/whatever, but it always seems to be the purple ones that are first. Personally, I thank The Good Lord for making them the first to show, because they are the prettiest. But I always wonder, still…
