Another of Hahn’s Horticulture Garden’s free garden talks will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13 from 12:00-1:00 p.m.  The topic will be “Hens in your Household” with Dr. Holly Scoggins.  Holly shares tips and experiences gained over 10+ years with backyard chickens – the good, the bad, and the gross.

If interested in attending, meet at the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion.  No registration is necessary and parking passes are available at the Pavilion for Visitors only. (F/S/ must park in designated F/S spaces.)

Learn more.

Organic Gardening also has quite a bit of information on using chickens as gardening helpers, for organic pest extermination, way to recycle food scraps, compost enhancer, etc. Read more.

I just clicked on “Learn More” and here is breaking news -

    [March 15 - Rescheduled!
Hens in your Household is rescheduled for May 15]

I was somewhat interested in attending but didn’t think today’s weather would not be conducive to being outside. Glad to hear it is rescheduled!

Those two “girls” look like two of mine! Rhode Island Reds! We have been very pleased with ours – a good all around chicken.
