Help out Mill Mountain Theatre this week

In case you haven’t already heard, Twists and Turns on Campbell Avenue in downtown Roanoke is hosting an entire week of events this week to benefit Mill Mountain Theatre.
The events include cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, floral arranging and cake decorating classes! For an entire schedule, check out Larry Bly’s column here.

What’s up with Annie Moore’s Pub? Anyone who has been to an authentic Irish Pub would agree that this restarant’s pub-like atmosphere is not close to a real Irish pub. The staff were not attentive during our visit last week, and were miffed when we requested some bread or crackers to have along with the chef salads. The food was OK but the staff acted like it was an imposition to bring us refills on the iced tea. That’s one Roanoke restaurant that will be put in our “Inactive” file.

I agree. Food was okay. A little pricey for the serving size, but I could live with that. The staff though…I probably will not go back. The service was NOT the best! Seemed like a bunch of young kids that would rather stand around and talk to each other rather than wait on the patrons.
