Score free chikin

My sister is such a Chick-fil-A freak that she and her co-workers once dressed up as cows to win a free lunch at one of the restaurant locations in South Carolina.

It’s no surprise, then, that she was the one who sent me an e-mail announcing an upcoming chance for all of us to score free chicken strips on Labor Day at a Chick-fil-A near us.

According to the company’s promotional site, all you’ve got to do is visit a participating Chick-fil-A between 10:30 a.m. and closing time on Labor Day wearing any clothing or accessory that has a collegiate logo, or the logo of your favorite recreational football team, middle or high school football team, or professional football team.

If you do that, you’re eligible for three of the restaurant’s new chicken strips, which they are advertising as “bigger, tastier and dippier.” I guess this promotion serves as advertisement for their new strips as well as a celebration that football season is upon us. I can handle that!

In other news, please make sure to post a comment about why you want to win “Eat, Shrink & Be Merry” by Janet & Greta Podleski. The Cookbook Giveaway ends at 5 p.m. today and I’ll announce the winner tomorrow.

Stay dry. Eat a bowl of soup. Warm up.

Thanks to your last post, I ventured out and dined at a Chinese food buffet. I am home for the rest of the day, and with a full stomach too. (It’ll be a while before I’m hungry again).

My best friend, Emily, camped out for 2 days at a Chik-Fil-A opening near her house last year. Apparently, when they open a new restaurant, the first 100 or 200 customers get free food for a year!

Oh Great! Just what we needed. Another reason for the VT people to get out and wear their ridiculous Maroon and Orange jerseys! I can’t wait until basketball season when they put that junk away! Go Tarheels!

Well, Greg, I guess you’re just going to have to wear your Tarheels shirt to Chick-fil-A on Monday! I think I’ll put on an old Alleghany High School sweatshirt. Haha.
You’ve gotta hand it to Chick-fil-A. They come up with some imaginative promotions and give away a good amount of food.

    Greg, don’t hate; celebrate!

I got free chicken the easy way! I rec’d a coupon in the mail for 5 free “chicken fingerz” from the Zaxby’s in Salem!! I live in W. Salem, not too far from there, guess that’s why I got the coupon. I like their chicken strips, I’ll definitely use the coupon!

Aw c’mon Greg, you know maroon and orange is such a good color combination. :-)

Did I mention that the Chik-fil-A site http://www.cheerforchicken.com/ has dancing cow cheerleaders? Umm, yeah, you get to choose the cow, team color and cheer. My orange cow in a blue wig did splits. It’s bizarre.

I don’t care what sports team you root for, free food always brings people together!

Lindsey I do love me some Chick-fil-A though. In fact I’m eating a chicken biscuit from there right now!

If only there was an Roanoke Times blog to discuss irrelevant ACC sports…

  12. Amanda | August 28, 2008 at 12:57 pm

Actually, orange and blue is a better combination. :-)

  13. Lindsey | August 28, 2008 at 2:27 pm

Oh, Amanda, you must be referring to the Denver Broncos. I had no idea you were also a Broncos fan! He he…just kidding…I know what you were referring to.
