Corned Beef and Co. turns 25

In case you missed it in today’s Extra section, Corned Beef & Co. in downtown Roanoke is celebrating 25 years in business. They are celebrating with 25 cent wings through Saturday. Also, today and tomorrow, all appetizers are $5 and all sandwiches are $5. There’s your cheap lunch today!

Speaking of cheap lunches, my husband gave me a hard time last night because I forgot to link to my column this week. In case you missed that, I scrounged up 25 lunch options in downtown Roanoke for $6 and less. That’s proof you can still eat an affordable lunch while the market building is closed! Click here to see the story.

Can you handle more money savings? Weeeell, today’s Daily Deal on Roanoke.com is $15 for a full wine tasting for two at Virginia Mountain Vineyards in Fincastle, which normally costs $30.

Finally, don’t forget to enter to win those Paula Deen tickets by 5 p.m. today. To enter, click here. The winner will be announced on Monday. Good luck to all!

    Hi Lindsey;
    I’ve been trying to access the recipe link that you included on Sept. 22, “The embattled egg.” All I get is Error 404 – Not Found. Am I doing something wrong or is the link dead?

    You aren’t doing anything wrong. I think I was mistaken about that being a live link to an active website. It must be some other kind of document. I will post the recipes at the bottom of that blog entry, Vickie. Check there in a few minutes. Thanks so much for bringing that to my attention and I apologize for the confusion.

    Thanks, Lindsey! Looks like we’ll be trying some new breakfast entrees this weekend. Mmmm…love those eggs!

    My hubby and I went to Corned Beef early last evening. It was great to be able to get their delicious french dip sandwich for only $5. Rich got their trademark corned beef & pastrami sandwich. Yummy! Thanks for letting us know about the $5 Birthday event.
