Guess which donut maker has been invited to a Food Network Challenge?

Hi, Kathy here filling for Lindsey and I’ve got some breaking food news!

The Botetourt View has gotten word that Daniel Knight of  Blue Collar Joe’s in Daleville has been invited to a Food Network Challenge involving, of course, donuts.

Knight will be one of four contestants on the show, which will air sometime in 2011. He’ll be heading to Denver to film the episode next month. And the toughest part, Knight said, won’t be the cooking.

Speaking of donuts, what’s your favorite flavor — in general or from Blue Collar Joe’s? I’m partial to anything chocolate, but not a fan of the jelly-filled kinds.

Daniel is awesome! I am sure he will do great on the show. BCJs is our favorite hot spot for donuts :)

I have never had a doughnut from BCJs that wasn’t awesome, but I would have to say that the Boston Surprise is probably my favorite, followed closely by the chocolate and blueberry cheesecake doughnuts.

And I am with you, Kathy, not a jelly-filled fan. I leave those for others to enjoy.

My personal fave is the OBX! But I did ask for a specially made chocolate chocolate with bacon on it once. It was so delicious!

I love BCJ’s! The best dooughnuts around. Can’t wait to see the show.

I love BCJ’s. I was pleasantly surprised by a banana split donut, perfect balance of flavors. But their pumpkin donuts are fantastic! My mom loved the lemon glaze but they have changed them. I would take those to her instead of lemon pound cake.

BCJ’S are sensational.I served them once at a party. One person said they didn’t really like donuts but took a half one just to be polite. Then they ate the second half, then another one. They also asked if they could take one home.
    Chocolate Cheesecake are my favorite.
