Countdown to the new year – Book 2

On day 2 of the countdown to the new year in cookbook giveaways, I’m offering the chance for someone to win “Spice Dreams”, a book of recipes for flavored ice creams and other frozen treats by Sara Engram and Katie Luber with Nancy Meadows and Kimberly Toqe. The recipes in this book call for some pretty exotic and unusual flavorings for ice cream.

Here’s an example of some of the recipes you’ll find in “Spice Dreams:

* Anise and dark chocolate ice cream
* Chocolate-ginger ice cream sandwiches
* Cardamom-coconut toasted topping
* Peach waffle sundaes with cinnamon syrup
* Chile-lemongrass ice cream

    Since our family got an ice cream maker, homemade ice cream has become my dad’s favorite summer dessert!! We would really enjoy being able to make more than just vanilla and chocolate!

    In high school I did an exchange program to Japan, and the family had me try this really strange flavor of ice cream. Sadly, I can’t for the life of me remember what it was! Maybe this cookbook could jog my memory!

    Wow, judging from the flavours, it should be one untraditional cook(??)book !

    As a pregnant woman who will be pregnant for most of the summer, cranking out some home made ice cream would be the perfect way to satisfy any sweet cravings!

    I love unusual ice cream combinations! And I might have a better chance of winning this than the new year lottery : )

    The Cardamom-coconut toasted topping sounds wonderful and just the right unusual but well-combined flavor. Would love to see what other flavors go together in this book.

    What a great idea for a book and a give-away. Everyone loves ice cream and it is always great to have ideas and recipes that are not just plain vanilla!
