Yay for Derby recipes, especially First-Saturday-in-May pie.

Benedictine is fabulous, but really folks, go easy on the hot sauce in it. Most people’s recipes don’t have any, or it is just barely noticeable. The foodcoloring is optional, but traditional. You’re going for an attractive pale mint-icecream sort of color.

Though, other than the pie, all you really need for Derby is a mint julep.

Don’t forget about the Roanoke Weiner Stand (#2 i think) located on Brandon Road near Peters Creek Extension. . . same great Dogs!!
