The one on Hershberger is starting to take shape, structural steel is up. Looks to be a drive-thru only model.

So excited about Cook Out coming to Roanoke and Rocky Mount. (I heard Danville, too). Love to eat at the ones in NC and Lynchburg. Great menu and prices!! So glad it’s going to be a “sit down”, as the ones in NC are drive thru only.
Cook Out…if you’re reading this, since you are expanding….PLEASE give us one in Martinsville too!!!!

glad to see cook out coming, the food is great and the prices are low for the quality of food. It appears that steak and shake will not ever open. wish they would put a shake shack in there instead. Also, I drove by the wing boss on orange ave. not much process as it appears they may not open either.

Yes, both Cook-Out and Steak ‘n’ Shake are putting locations on Hershberger Road in the general vicinity of Crossroads Mall/K-mart.
They will not be far from one another. Neither will they be far from McDonald’s or Taco Bell or Wendy’s.
I see fast-food restaurants grouped together all the time, often right off interstate exits.

The food is good. My problem with it is you feel so rushed. You don’t have time to look at the extensive menu and make up your mind quick enough without making the people behind you mad. This has made my dining experience not so pleasurable.
