We tried to go to Beamer’s one night after a show at Jefferson Center, got there just before 10:00 PM and they were closed! Haven’t had a chance to try again, and haven’t been to the Wasena place yet. We have been to another new place twice, Mirko’s Pasta. That place is the BOMB!!! The food and service is excellent! Good prices for what you get, I highly recommend going there! MUCH better than some of the so called “higher end” Italian places around town, and much less expensive!

One of my mantras is “to each his or her own.” My son and I have been to 1906 Ale House four or five times, & we love it there! Great beer selection, great bartender, and a very nice menu w/ some different items than you usually see. I must be honest and say we haven’t eaten there so cannot review the food. But the place is really nice and I love the beer selection. And the bartender made us a (GREAT!) Bloody Mary from scratch! Granted, the beer costs more than what I’m used to: Macado’s/Salem happy hour! But it’s no more than you pay downtown, that’s for sure! I recommend going there!

We had a late lunch at the Wasena Taphouse yesterday. Nice looking interior, nice bar, decent beer list, menu uninspired and uninspiring. I liked my cod taco well enough, but the table opinion was that everything was pretty bland. The Wildflour menu is great….I hope they migrate some of those dishes over to this place.

Went to both Beamers 25 as well as new beer place on Grandin. Beamers was excellent. Place on Grandon awful! Food/portions small and poor. Got the same beer and it was a dollar more at Grandon. They will be following Issacs soon/ closed!! Don’t bother going- there are so many other wonderful places on Grandin like Norbertos. Maybe they could expand when the beer joint closes!!

My husband and I loved Howard’s Soup Kitchen, as well. Especially the tuna salad on those homemade rolls. Mmmmm.

I loved Howard’s Soup Kitchen. Did not like La Finca. The last time I went there was about 2 years ago, when I picked something up for lunch. The lunch special that I ordered was supposed to inclue Chile Rellenos. When I got back to work and opened the box, there was no chile pepper, jsut a glob of cheese. The otehr items were not good. I never went back.

@ Bill, to be fair I consistently hear from readers who say Allsports Cafe has the best wings around. Of course, they will be running into some stiff competition in the NRV. I think you raise a good point.

Others, thanks for the tips on the yogurt/Asian place.
