We’re going to Table 50 tonight to try out their restaurant week offerings. You can check the menus at the Downtown Roanoke website and see what’s available. I was disappointed in Lucky’s selection. We hit Metro today for their $10 bento box and it was great…sad they took them off the regular lunch menu.

Stopped in to First & Sixth for a restaurant week dinner last night.. we had an early reservation and the dining room was nearly deserted. Great choices for all 3 courses, particular standouts were the Oysters Bienville and the excellent bourbon glazed NY strip, which was enormous. The service was friendly and low key. Recommended!

We were just at Habana Cafe for lunch and they had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about their restaurant week deal. Looking at the menu, it would take some work to even get to $10 anyway.

@Kevin, Maria: I believe my friend tried to make a reservation but was told they don’t take them. We probably would have waited if there had been seats at the bar, but it was jam-packed.

Lindsey, we made it to Beamers Saturday night. We were told it was an hour wait, but with the compliment of beers on tap, we decided to stick it out. We ended up getting a table sooner than that, about 20 minutes. The food was good, the service, once we got to the table was good as well. Our only complaint was service at the bar while waiting for a table. The bartenders were less than attentive. It took several attempts to even get their attention, and once we did their attitudes could have been better. It was quite busy, but to the point that they would not notice those standing waiting to order drinks. Overall, we did enjoy it and will go back!

Hey Lindsey…were you there for lunch today? We went to see what they had for Restaurant Week and were happy that the Shroom was one of the offerings….a great burger, tater tots, and iced tea for $10. Not bad!

Anyway…thought I saw someone who looked like you.

Kevin, I hope you like it! On a Saturday night you might want to try and make a reservation…not sure if they take them, but you might want to ask.

We tried to go to Beamer’s for dinner on Friday night, but there was a wait of 45 minutes to an hour. That’s a good problem for them to have! Just don’t be surprised if it’s busy.

Let me know how it goes, Kristen. I’m trying Beamer’s Saturday night for the first time with friends, based in no small part to the positive comments I’ve seen on this blog. Then, over to the Civic Center to watch VT hockey against Temple.

Stephanie, that was just a reference to the fact that Blacksburg has had a couple of restaurant weeks and they seemed to go well.
