I think that “we” are getting there! This will be the third microbrewery, and Roanoke has at least four restaurants/bars w/ double digit taps. A year ago, to the best of my knowledge, we had one, Blue 5. Now, in addition to that, we have 1906 Ale House, Wasena Taproom, and Beamer’s 25. And I realize that there could be others that I don’t know about. Anyway, all the changes are positive! We had one beer festival, Roanoke’s Microfestivus, which is awesome by the way! Now we have Salem’s Beertopia, and B-Burg’s Brew-Do, both of which are also good! So as I started out saying, we’re getting there! And yes, I’m VERY excited to try Parkway’s beer at the brewery when they open!

Roanoke is certainly well on it’s way to a great craft beer culture similar to the likes of Raleigh/Durham and several other driveable locations that have a great beer scene. I couldn’t be happier! Looking forward to Keno giving us a nice wheat beer in the future.
