“Good Afternoon Friends & Fans, from the staff at SoRo, we wish you a very Happy New Year and wanted to let everyone know we have some sad news to report.

In spite of our best efforts, we are no longer able to remain financially viable and will be closing the doors for good tomorrow, Saturday December 29th.

On behalf of our staff we all enjoyed getting to know you over the past three years and greatly appreciate your support and encouragement over the years. We wish you all the very best!”

    Never ate there.

That’s such a shame. I really enjoyed their burger w/ fried green tomatoes on it and it was a warm and inviting place to go to. Wish the owner & employees the best.

not surprised. food was terrible, service even worse!

The bar area was very nicely done but the food barely reached mediocre. I’m surprised it was open as long as it was.

not surprised. My wife and I tried it once because we had a Daily Deal but that was the first and last time we ever ate there as we had no desire to return. cramped parking lot that made me fear I’d leave without a bumper attached the way the elderly customers navigated it, the service was horrible (we went on a slow day and our waitress still hardly paid attention to us), had to send my food back because the bread was black as night while the rest of my sandwich was ironically cold. …and that’s my opinion with getting my food for half price–I would’ve been appalled if I paid full freight for such terrible service and fare.

Always sorry to see a local business close, but in my opinion, they didn’t do things well so they were a victim of their own problems more than it being an economy thing.

We have eaten at SoRo on occasion since it opened. We loved the casual, yet somewhat upscale, atmosphere and delicious food (especially the Geaux Geaux Shrimp!). The service was always wonderful. Sadly we knew this would happen the last time we ate there. It was immediately obvious the management had changed hands. Most of the wait staff that evening seemed to be new to restuarant service, the menu had lost some of our favorite dishes, and our dinners took 40 minutes to arrive to the table and were definitely not worth the wait! The only surprise here is that it lasted until December 29!

I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the coziness of the restaurant. Service was always great. I am sorry that SORO has closed :(

While I was never disappointed in the food there, the service was always sooooooo slooooooow.

As others have stated here, I’m not shocked. I always prefer to eat at a local establishment over one of the chains that seem so popular here. However, this was a one-time experience for me. The food was bland and the service was some of the slowest and most inattentive I’ve ever experienced.

My family really liked this place. Although, thinking back, the five times or so we were there, it was pretty empty.

Not necessary to kick someone when they are down. I commend anyone trying to make a go of business right now. wish them look in the next chapter of their lives

Tried it once with the family and wasn’t impressed with either the food or the service.

We ate there 3 or 4 times. Always at the bar so service was fine. Food was fair. Nothing to write home about so this isn’t surprising.
