It is at least a half-hour drive to Narrows from our home, but it’s one we haven’t minded making since we discovered Anna’s Restaurant.
Located in the heart of small Narrows, Anna’s country atmosphere and friendly staff welcome customers when they walk through the door. Anna’s is a big restaurant, and once you taste the food on the buffet, you will know why there is a lot of seating. Owners Jerry and Anna Frazier said December will mark their 30th year in business.
Antique household items, photographs and flower arrangements decorate the walls and hang from the ceiling. Sound travels across the wood floor, but we did not find it bothersome. Aromas from the kitchen tease. At any given time, there are likely to be families, businessmen and police officers among the patrons – a sure sign that this is a good place to eat.

That picture makes me want to lick my computer screen.
What are the days and hours of operation?
I’m glad you asked, Tim, because this is a great opportunity to point out one of the improvements that comes with our redesigned website. If you go to the story link on the new website, you’ll notice that the infobox that ran in the newspaper is pulled in on the sidebar: http://www.roanoke.com/living/food/restaurantreviews/1731822-12/review-southern-delights-on-menu-and-buffet-at.html
You didn’t see that before because I was linking to the old site by accident. I have changed the link in the body of the email so it goes to this new and improved page.
From now on, readers of the website should be able to find all the information online that has been available in the print version of the newspaper – including address, phone number, hours, and a locator map.
Anybody let me know if you have questions about any of this.
Wonder if they still have crawdads on the buffet? They were good!
As far as I know, they still have a Thursday night old-time music jam there.
I travel to that area a few times a year and I always make a point to stop at Anna’s for lunch. They always have great food. They usually have cooked carrots on the buffet. I don’t know where they get them from but they are massive and sweet. Biggest carrots I’ve ever seen.
Picture does look great, but the starch – corn, mashed potatoes, corn bread, mac and cheese. Looks like there may be green beans under the cornbread, if so, then I guess it’s OK.
I have been eating at Anna’s Restaurant for 15 years and have never been disappointed with the food, service or price!
We went yesterday. The chicken fried steak is fantastic!
