I received word today that Scott’s Strawberry Farm in Moneta still has lots of strawberries available — so many they’re worried some will go bad before they are purchased.
Scott’s offers a darn good price for you-pick berries ($10 for a 5-quart pail) and local berries only come around for a short time every year, so if you’re interested, head out there. They have about 10 days left on their season.
If you don’t think your family can eat that many fresh berries, remember that you can always make jam or freeze the berries for later use. How delicious would strawberry shortcake, strawberry pie or strawberry daiquiris be later this summer or in the winter?
