They're baaaaaaack!

peepsss%20001.jpg

Those of you who keep a regular eye on this blog know that I am being stalked by Peeps, the soft, pillowy, marshmallowy candy.
That's right, stalked by Peeps.
They keep appearing in my mailbox. Every time I think I have been frightened as much as possible, a new and different kind of Peeps appears.
This time, as you can see, they are green. And accompanied by giant tulip Peeps.

Awesome!

Cut a slit in the plastic, and throw them in a drawer and forget about them for anohter 5 months, then they'll be perfectly aged for eating. I just polished off some Halloween peeps last week. Mmmmm mmmm.

Oh, yes, I forgot about you and the petrified Peeps, Rich. Next time I get some in the mail, I'll open them up, dump them in an envelope and send them to you!

Rich - Now here's something we agree on! I thought I was the only person who "aged" my peeps. I can't stomach the things unless they're good and stale. The chewier the better -- like marshmallow jerky, lol.

I only like the YELLOW peeps (easter chick shape), and, of course, need to eat them by first biting off their heads - can't stand food that's looking at me.

Hmmm, I still have Peeps (unopened) from LAST Easter. I wonder, since they are unopened, if they are still smooshy (technical term) or have they attained the perfect texture? Regardless, I think they may be the perfect accompaniment to my hot chocolate later this evening.

Peeps with hot chocolate...hmmm, now there's a fascinating idea. If you floated a peep on top of a mug of hot cocoa, he might look like he's just taking a little swim.

Peep Agers....UNITE!!!

You can 'kinda' simulate the nirvana that is stale peeps by popping them in the freezer overnight.

Marshmallow jerky...I like that!

I had never thought of the Peeps/hot cocoa combination before. I like it. Too bad I don't have any Peeps at home.

Jordan, there are still some Peeps on the newsroom counter that, for some inexplicable reason, nobody has pounced on yet. Go for it.
And Lori, if you take that picture, I will DEFINITELY put it on my blog. Definitely.

The Peeps diaramas are fantastic. We haven't attempted anything QUITE that insane, but if you check the first link on this entry, you'll notice we have done some bizarre things with Peeps here at The Roanoke Times. It was all on video for the TimesCast, a daily Webcast we used to do. I may even be able to dig up some of that video and show you guys...

I have never been a fan, my daughter on the other hand loves them. She lives in MD so I sent her this blog entry, and she agreed the petrified peeps are the best. I told her I'd buy some at Easter and save them for her, for Christmas. The diaramas were great!

I have 2 photos of bunny peeps floating in hot chocolate. It was quite tasty. Having been purchased a year ago, the peeps were nice and hard. Of course, after the hot chocolate bath that quickly changed. They were quite delicious.
Lindsey, as soon as I can get the photos off my camera, I'll email them to you!

Peeps in a hot chocolate spa. Imagine..how lavishly extravagant.
I loved the dioramas. Makes me want to buy some and dress them up.
