Pretty much I was just talking about the last two years of Division 1. Of course, Southampton, Sussex Central, Central-Lunenburg have been dominant over the years. The biggest difference between east and west that I have seen over the years isn't so much on the field, it's the community support. The coalfield schools in particular in Region D, and schools like Giles in Region C have outstanding community support. The crowd for Saturday's championship game between George Wythe and Honaker was phenomenal. There were more people there than there were the week before at the Salem-Heritage game.

Hey Robert just wanted to make a few comments about some articles in the paper about southwest va football. Southwest va football does have a tradition of being good and hard nosed but less not forget over the years the teams from the east or central part of the state have done pretty well. I remember back in 1979 when Gate City played South Hampton in the stae AA final. South Hampton stomped Gate City 56 to 6. The main reason why was too much speed. If you can't catch em you cant stop em. Central Lunenburg has won several state titles also. I would have loved to see Goochland play George Wythe. Always enjoy your articles. Keep it up.
