William Fleming football coach Johnson resigns

William Fleming High School football coach Lee Johnson said Wednesday that he has resigned from his coaching position after three seasons with the Colonels.

Johnson posted a 2-28 overall record at Fleming after he was hired in the spring of 2010. The Colonels finished 1-9 in 2012.

Prior to coming to William Fleming, Johnson was the head football coach at North Cross, leading the Raiders to the VIS Division III championship in 2008. He was the head coach at Glenvar from 2002-06.

Johnson said he plans to remain as a physical education teacher at Fleming.

Roanoke City Schools has posted the coaching vacancy on its web site.
