New format, new outlook
I liked the new Hollywood week format. Unlike the past seasons of "Idol," the contestants didn't have to perform in groups. I always felt like someone got robbed because the rest of the group sucked. And with this new format, everyone had a second chance. Not a bad deal, considering all those cases of nerves that sometimes just need a second shot.
Contestants also got to play instruments if they wanted. This is a new twist to the usual Hollywood week auditions, too.
First contestant Brooke White (she's the one who's never seen an R-rated movie) told the camera that her biggest weakness would be her lack of confidence on stage. Brooke played the piano while she sang "Beautiful," and it was a hit. Ironically, her confidence oozed behind the piano. Take it away and we'll see what happens. But, she kicked off the Hollywood round with a unanimous yes from the judges.

Jordan : →http://www.roanoke.comI liked Brooke White.
I also liked Kyle Ensley -- not for his singing abilities at all -- but because he's a complete nerd like me. (Y'ever eat deer jerky?)
