Forget Jason Castro, bravo David Cook

Jason
1. “Forever in Blue Jeans” – this song and Neil Diamond songs, in general match well with Jason but still… it just kinda lay there.
2. “September Morn” – Again… the same.
Overall, FORGETTABLE. The judges did their best to send him packing – talked about his strength the last two weeks. Two weeks? I never really liked Jason.

It’s simple. Jason is the weakest singer and performer. He should go home this week – no question.

DC
1. “I’m Alive” – nice rocker style (as usual).
2. “All I Really Need is You” – went a little sweeter with a rock out in the end.
The judges congratulated DC on his ability to take 2 unheard-of songs and bring them into today’s rock genre.

Will DC bring AI into the 21st century?

Brooke
1. “I’m a Believer” – a good choice for Brooke. I think I wanted to see her sing this song. In the end I was surprised the Monkees didn’t start singing backup. She really just did song as is. It didn’t show her range or her talent.
2. “I am…I said” – she was making me nervous before this performance – rehearsing her lines with Ryan. With THIS song we found the Brooke we all fell in love with.
I think playing the piano must give Brooke confidence in her singing. She always hits a homerun when using this instrument.

OMG – Simon just said the exact same words I did (almost) – scary.

David A.
1. “Sweet Caroline” – playing to the tweens tonight? I think so. David still shows promise with his strong voice, but can’t seem to break out of this bubble gum mold.
2. “America” – well, well, well. David A. pulls out all the stops and chooses a great song. I can’t help but wonder if he isn’t following the Kristy Lee Cook formula for success.
The judges liked his second song and congratulated him for it. He will probably sail on to the next week.

Syesha
1. “Hello Again” – wow! Syesha has a nice look tonight. Kind of glam girl meets Broadway. This song was a little forgettable, but I still liked it.
2. “I Thank The Lord For The Night Time” – she really brought her own style to this performance and I am really impressed.

We are seeing more and more from this girl each week. She should receive the award for “Most Improved.” Simon placed a black cloud over her last song with a calculation that she has a one in five chance of losing – duh…

Tomorrow night should be interesting. I may just sit on the edge of my seat.

Bucky

This was, absolutely, the stupidist night in American Idol history. It's time to start watching Beauty and the Geek.
