Tivo a must for 'Idol Gives Back'
It's really hard for me to sit through long, drawn-out shows like "Idol Gives Back," so I'm not really looking forward to watching tonight. Don't get me wrong, it's for a wonderful cause and I'm all for that. But sometimes the Hollywood hype is just too much. Raise the money, certainly, just don't make me watch all the junk ... like group sing.
I don't know how much I'll blog about this episode. It was taped on Sunday night so I'm sure it'll be presented to us as a big, shiny package with Miley Cyrus as the proverbial bow on top.
I keep reading conflicting news items on which of the past participants will grace the stage. Some say Chris Daughtry. Some say Kelly Clarkson. Some say Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. I guess we'll see. Whatever the case, this year's show is said to be "bigger and better" than ever, of course. Is that why we won't see former contestants like Ruben Studdard or Fantasia or Clay Aiken, or what about Justin Guarini? Where's he? I liked him.

shanaI think Clay Aiken is performing on Broadway right now, so he wouldn't be able to make the Idol show.

AllisonKelly won't be there. She's on tour in Europe right now.

AmandaKelly is touring overseas, so if she is going to be on at all, I'm assuming she would have taped it over there. I doubt she will though. I'd LOVE to see her and Chris Daughtry do a song together!

RevaKelly Clarkson is on tour so its safe to say she will not be a part of tonight Idol show. Fantasia will take part in Idol Gives Back. Both her and Elliott Yamin were sent to Africa a few weeks ago with an Idol film crew. They showed some of the film on Idol last week, they will show the rest of it on tonights show.

TeeFANTASIA DID participate in the show. She and Elliott Yamin were taken by Idol to Angola, Africa to hand out netting with the proceeds from last years's Idol Gives Back. The videos are all over youtube.

jeanFantasia is going in for Throat surgery, She can not attend.
I think Ruben has been on Idol already this season, and is scheduled to appear at least one more time.
Justin has a TV show connected to Idol that films weekly, you can catch him on there. he is in the studio, but has his own job filming after Idol ends.

patI would have absolutely LOVED to have gotten to see Justin Guarini perform on the Idol Stage again. I saw him sing in concert and he is an amazing performer.
