Really? It was David Cook?

I didn't believe it when David Cook won. Really didn't. I mean, he was my favorite, but I just didn't expect it. I was so ready for Archuleta to take it. In fact, I was almost glad DC was going to get second place. Second place may have been a better position because he'd be free to go and do his own thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he won. I feel more closure now. I don't feel as jaded. But I don't know what to do with that yet. :-)

David Cook won. Wow, y'all, it's over. Weirdly, last night while I was watching, I kind of got sad. You know that summer camp sadness you used to experience when you were young? You'd go to camp, meet great friends and then have to leave them a week or two later. It was always so traumatic on that last day. When they showed clips of the first auditions last night I kinda had that feeling. I know it's cheesy, so don't hold it against me. But if you think about it, we've been doing this since January. That's a heck of a long time to be committed to something like this. You guys have been great. I've had a blast doing this blog (most days, anyway).

Thanks so much for reading and supporting me and calling me out; that's the whole point of a blog. And I feel this one was successful because of the readers.

What next? For now, check back for my full analysis later this morning. It's for the newspaper, but I'll post it here, too.

America got it right this time. they voted on talent not popularity. David Cook deserved this more than Archie.

I guess the Archie fans today are still holding onto their crying towels this morning.after he got whooped by 12 million votes. Goes to show the real talent won.

I'm usually only interested in the last 10 minutes of the elimination shows.....but I will have to hand it to the producers; last night was a great show, all the way down to David Cook winning.

The performances/duets with the big time artists were on point!

Brook & Graham Nash was probably my favorite....followed by Carley & Michael.

I thought that David Cook showed a lot of class during his final song by calling the rest of the finalist up on the stage behind the judges with him.

See you next January???

I'll admit that I enjoyed the Graham Nash/Brooke performance, too. (Even though I'm making fun of the fact that all the guest appearances skewed way old -- except for the Jonas Bros. -- I personally enjoyed it because I'm over 30. :-) As for next January? Yikes. I don't know yet. It's a big job.

I was pretty shocked too. I mean I was ready to point my finger towards the American public and the idol show and say, "WRONG! You voted wrong!!"

So, there I sat, with the rest of the voting public... speechless.

What's next for you? The tour? Being an AI groupie might be fun. Especially with DC at the helm!

Thanks for all the fun this season Wendy!! I really enjoyed reading along with the rest of SW Virginia!

Yeppers. Your country is falling apart and turning into a police state while you're being "entertained"
