Cook’s second song is The Who’s “Baba O’Reilly,” one of my all-time favorite songs. He’s singing it to an audience of kids who will relate Who songs to the themes of CSI shows, so I hope that helps with the recognition factor. He does a good job, and I am a harsh critic when it comes to this song. I am now, finally, a Cook fan.
Randy loves it. So does Paula if anyone cares. Simon said “welcome back David Cook.”
Mercado’s second song is “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cook. I hate the dress she’s wearing so much it’s hard to pay attention to the song, but she belts it out big time.
Randy did not like it at all. Paula gave her a standing ovation, and fawns all over her through tears. Simon rolls his eyes while Paula talks, but he agrees with Paula.
Mercado is bawling through her glittery eye makeup. She said she researched the civil rights era-song, and it meant a lot to her to sing it tonight. Simon chastises Randy for making Syesha cry.
Castro now decides to massacre another Bob; it’s Dylan’s turn now. He starts out okay on “Mr. Tambourine Man,” until he completely spaces the lyrics and just hums through about a quarter of the song. I am totally not digging it, dude. His two performances added up to one hot mess.
Randy produces the understatement of the show: “Jason’s not in the zone tonight.” Paula said it is what it is. Simon tells him to pack his suitcase. If Castro stays one more week, it’s completely because of those blue eyes.
Archuleta takes on the King: Elvis’ “Love Me Tender.” He’s all vulnerable and sweet and sincere, and I imagine girls and grandmothers all over America are glued to his every syllable. Once again though, I must admit, he nailed it vocally. Can’t say the boy can’t sing.
Randy said Archuleta has the hot vocals of the night. Paula said it was her favorite of his performances. Simon said Archuleta “crushed” the competition tonight. Not sure I would go that far, but I do agree he should move on based on these two songs.
Seacrest reminds votes that this is the point in the competition when both Tamyra Gray and Chris Daughtry made their exits. Every vote counts, viewers.
What do you think, folks? Who was your favorite? Who were you not feeling?

ChrisCastro is undoubtedly the worst - both performance were utter garbage.

RondaI can tell it pains you to even complement Archuleta at all, but he was amazing. And yes, he did crush the competition. No one even came close. And I actually like Cookie some of the time. But not tonight. Nothing special from the "rocker."

Wendy wanders EuropeIt's me! I just remembered I have a blog running at home. I'm currently on the Med. sea, where they don't have any channels in English, except CNN. Having a blast ... blog looks great. Thanks for the work!!! See you soon!

Jen (too)Cook - ok...
Syesha - 1st was bad, 2nd was good
Archuleta - i'm tired of him... the bambi, shy act is getting on my nerves and would you please keep your eyes open?
Castro - oh my God, how did you get this far? the boy can't see and i'd like to see a drug screen on him. dude...

StuIt is going to be a very interesting results show tonight. This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jason survives for another week.
Yes, I know he totally blew both songs, but I also know that living in my house is a female from the mid "30" something age group & a female from the younger teenage group.....and neither one of them seemed dissuaded by his bumbling.....and that is because he is pretty.
I thought Cook nailed both songs. My wife had never heard "Baba O’Reilly" before last night, but she really loved it when he was singing.
Mercado - I wasn't impressed, but I haven't been with her at all this season. To me, she is just an singer.
Castro - The baby blues & locks had better grab some votes.
Archuleta - Shouldn't have a problem getting to the finals.
I guess we will find out tonight.

Amy Hanek : →http://www.houseonthegladehill.blogspot.comAgain... I can't say this enough... Jason shows off how much talent he HASN'T got. I think he is finally running out of gas.

Mary SueMy impression of Jason is that he is surprised each week when the votes keep him in, and that he'd just as soon people stopped voting for him. I think he was ready to leave a good while ago - would rather get back to his own life- so is just going through the motions on his performances. He's cute and I liked him at first, but now I think his lack of effort is disrepectful to the others who really want to win.
