15 offers for 15th UVa “commit”

Brad Henson, a 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive guard from Monsignor Donovan in Toms River, N.J., has become the 15th football player to commit to Virginia for 2013.

Henson had offers from 15 FCS programs, including six of Virginia’s conference rivals — Boston College, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, N.C. State and Syracuse.

Many of the same programs had been involved with Jack McDonald, a 6-5, 275-pound offensive guard from Boston College High in Dorchester, Mass., who had committed to the Cavaliers on Monday.

Henson is rated the No. 11 prospect in New Jersey by rivals.com, which also lists him as the No. 20 offensive guard nationally. He also had listed offers from Tennessee, South Carolina and West Virginia.
