Latest UVa football commitment

Virginia was the choice over Notre Dame and North Carolina when wide receiver Keeon Johnson from Kannapolis, N.C., announced his collegiate plans Friday.

Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 200-pounder, had 39 receptions for 795 yards and nine touchdowns this past season for A.C. Brown High School.

That’s the same program that produced UVa basketball player Teven Jones, who was an all-state wide receiver for A.C. Brown in 2010.

Johnson is the 11th player to commit to UVa for the entering class of 2013 and the second from North Carolina, joining Statesville linebacker LaChaston Smith.

Johnson had offers from six ACC schools, including Miami and Georgia Tech, according to the 247sports.com.

This is a awful recruiting class so far. London isn’t getting it done.
