Most area school systems are either closed or delayed today, but what will another missed day of classes mean for students and teachers?
For some it’s going to mean makeup days. In Roanoke County this marks the system’s seventh inclement weather day this year and will be made up Friday, May 24. The system has already blown through its banked time and will be making up two other snow days as well.
The other two make up days will be be Friday, March 15. That day was previously a teacher work day, but is now a regular school day. Students will also head to class on Monday, March 18.
In Craig County, where students have also missed quite a few days they’ve already started making up time. According to the school system’s website, the school board decided last month to send kids to school on Feb. 18 and March 11 to make up time.
So snow days, love ‘em or hate ‘em? And will this be it for winter weather? What do you think (or what are you hoping for)?
