More gas news

I know you're probably already sick of seeing my gas updates, but this time it's different. This time, it was me paying the high prices, and it ticked me off. I paid $3.45 in Christiansburg this morning. It should not take $40 to fill up my manual-drive Saturn, but it did. And it didn't even fill up.

If you want evidence to my pain, AAA reports this morning that Roanoke-area gasoline prices hit a new record at $3.375, up 2.2 cents since YESTERDAY.

That is why we moved from Blacksburg to Roanoke.

I saw gas at $3.55 per gallon this morning at the Plantation Road / Hollins exit off Interstate 81.

But that's still cheaper than what I saw over the weekend -- $3.59 in Buchanan. We've got a comparison of gas prices in Botetourt over on our community news blog -- www.botetourtview.com

I drive a manual Acrua Integra, which has a 4-cylinder engine. It cost me $43.01 to fill up this morning, which is pretty bad. I'm dreading when our Escape needs to be filled again, last time it was $50, and that was when gas was just $3.10 a gallon. There's a reason I try to limit my driving anymore.
