New urgent care center comes to Hollins

The latest urgent care center to come to the Roanoke area is now seeing patients in the Hollins area.

MedExpress Urgent Care recently announced the opening of a new center at 5610 Williamson Road.

The walk-in center — where patients can get immediate medical attention for broken bones, cuts, and illnesses such as the flu — will be open 12 hours a day, seven days a week.  The Hollins center is the third in the Roanoke area for MedExpress, just one of several such providers to enter the market recently.

It’s all part of a trend in which more urgent care businesses are coming to the Roanoke market, as former health care reporter Sarah Bruyn Jones reported last year in this story.
